Home Reading Log

Your child has been assigned a day of the week to return his/her Home Reading Log,

which is printed on the cover. In grades three and four, the students are expected

to read for 20 minutes per day, for a minimum of 100 minutes during the week in

english, 10 minutes perday, for a minimum of 50 minutes in French. The time spent

doing the reading response should be included in this total.

Please have your child record the name of the book and number of minutes read, plus

please complete with your child a brief response on the following “Face” page

(Fluency, Accuracy, Comprehension and Expand Vocabulary) after they have read.

The books chosen for home reading may include any of the following reading levels:

Before returning the reading log, please ensure that your child has:

Filled in the log for each day that he/she has read in English and in

French.

Completed the assigned reading response (due on the fourth week of

your child’s assigned day).

Once per week, identified one type of connection he/she made with a

book in the reading connection box.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
