Page 1 KSPS Colour Explosion Were very much looking forward to this Thursdays Colour Explosion as it gives us a great chance to have lots of fun as well as raise money to assist students in attending high-level sporting events and school camps. Theres more information in todays newsletter, so I urge you to read it, support our day as best you can and get involved. Im sure it will be a wonderful experience! School Buses We have recently had reports of poor behaviour on school buses by a minority of our students who travel on them each day. We take this very seriously as the safety of your children is paramount and any behaviour on buses which potentially jeopardises this will not be tolerated by the bus companies or the school. If parents and carers could remind their children about what theyre required to do whilst travelling on the bus we would be very appreciative. School Holidays This Friday will be the last day of Term 3. Everyone has been working extremely hard all term and will benefit from a couple of weeks break to revitalise and refresh for the final term for 2019. We hope all families enjoy that bit of extra time together and look forward to all students returning safely to us on the first day back - Monday 14 th October. NAPLAN testing is done each year in an attempt to get a snapshot of how a child may be progressing in a limited number of learning areas. For a more comprehensive picture of your childs academic, social, physical and emotional progression at school we encourage all parents to touch base with their childs teacher as they have a greater understanding and much deeper knowledge about each childs development in their class. LEGO WeDo Challenge Day Last Wednesday, Miss Arnell, Uncle Greg and 3/4B ventured over to Kempsey East PS to take part in a LEGO WeDo challenge between the two schools. With a focus on Moon Missions, all students had a great time creating bases and using code to navigate their way around. A big thank you to our regional STEMShare Leader Kath Lollback for working with the kids and class for the past few weeks to get them ready for the challenge as well as our parent helpers who volunteered their time. It was a great example of what our students can achieve and how well they can work with peers from neighbouring schools. The day was hugely successful!

COLOUR EXPLOSION This Thursday we will be holding our Annual Paul Davis-Welsh Colour Explosion. This has replaced our Footy Fun days of the past. The more money we raise the more we can provide for the students through vital school projects, in particular the Paul Davis Welsh Sporting Fund. The School Run4Fun colour Explosion will be held this Thursday 26th September starting at 11.50am. This year we have invited parents to come along and join in the fun with their children. Parents who would like to join in can donate $10 and join in. Students will need to wear school uniforms to school but we do ask that you bring a spare change of clothes to school, most importantly a plain white shirt as the students will be covered in powder from head to toe. The day’s focus is on fun and fitness with the added benefit of raising funds for our school. If your child is not going to fundraise the cost for them to join in is $5. This covers the cost of the paint and glasses. Any student who raises as little as $10 or more will receive an incentive prize for their efforts. Last year we raised $4000. This money went to lower the cost of our excur-sions and support students who went away the represent the school for Athletics and Sporting teams. The canteen will run during the event and provide hot dogs and other treats.

P&C MEETING this Wednesday 2.15pm We will be holding our regular P&C Meetings on the last Wednesday of every month. The next meeting will be Wednesday 25th at 2.15pm. We are trialling an early start so parents/carers can attend while children are in class. All parents, carers and community members are invited to attend. We encourage new parents to join us. The P&C provides a way to become involved in the school community as it fosters community spirit, friendship and gives support to the school and students. If you have any questions please call us on 65 627 033.
