Many people live the life they think they have to live. They are overworked, underpaid, and unfulfilled. But the good news is that it doesn't have to be this way. My name is Mark Ford and my goal is to help you recognize your potential and equip you with the skills you need to turn that potential into a viable online business in the digital economy.

Who is Mark Ford?

Before I go any further, you may be wondering who I am and what qualifies me to give you home business advice...so here's my story.

My Name is Mark Ford and This is My Story

My Story

I began my career as a solicitor in the legal sector, but after 29 years in the profession, I became disillusioned. I wanted to escape the banality of working all hours just to pay the bills and I was desperate to leave the restrictive 9-5 corporate lifestyle behind. I wanted some control over my future, and I knew that somehow, somewhere, there was a way to do it. I became determined to find it.

My Property Investment Home Business

So I left my job, followed my entrepreneurial instincts, and in 2006 at the ripe age of 46, I started my own home-based property business - Pooleford Property Services. The business still thrives today and deals with property development, property investment, property management and property options.

Having got the property business up and running, I started to search the internet for other home based businesses that would give me a residual income.

My Home Based Internet Business

When I found The Six Figure Mentors/Digital Experts Academy on the internet I knew it was the solution I was looking for. Using the proven digital business system provided, I was able to start my home based internet business. In 2008 I launched Nice Money Publications.It deals with sharing information on business and income opportunities whilst working from home, information publishing, marketing and mentoring online.

The Life I Always Wanted

It took years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, but today I am living the life I always wanted. I've got several successful home businesses. I can travel when I want. I get to spend quality time with my family and friends, and I fit work around my home business lifestyle.

The bottom line is that I did something right when I started my journey to create a home business lifestyle and it has completely transformed my life by opening up new opportunities for me that simply didn't exist in my former 9-5 corporate lifestyle.

Affiliate Income: Affiliate income is a type of income that results from affiliate marketing which is a form of performance based marketing. A business rewards its affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate's own marketing efforts. Affiliate income is a good choice for those who have a shoestring marketing budget. Therefore, its an option for most people, especially anyone who is just getting started in the digital economy. If you don't have much of a marketing budget and no products to sell, becoming an affiliate marketer could be the best solution for you.

1. Amazon - This home based opportunity enables you to work from home as an Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk affiliate marketer. You can make money online from home, by advertising Amazon products on your own website or blog. We all dream about being wealthy, but for most people, it remains a dream and nothing more. Why does that happen?

It's because most people don't set their mind to achieving that goal of being rich - they don't have a millionaire's mindset. In case you're thinking it, one thing you need to get out of your mind right now is the thought that millionaires are smarter than the average person. This is not the case. Millionaires are not any smarter than a person working a 9-5 job. It's just that they have learned how to understand and develop a relationship with money which helps them to earn more. They also have the right attitude about their life and their surroundings to inspire confidence in them.

It was only when I started thinking like a millionaire that my fortunes changed dramatically. With this in mind, you might ask, what is the millionaire mindset? Well, it's all about changing your psychological approach to money, success and happiness.

Here are the basics:

• Millionaires have incomparable self confidence. They know what they want from life and they won't let anything get in the way of achieving it. The word failure is NOT in their vocabulary.

• Millionaires dedicate themselves to creating wealth. They think BIG! Average people buy lottery tickets, but you won't see a millionaire buying a lucky dip, because they get their thrills in the marketplace. They take risks and invest in things that will create more wealth.

• Millionaires take chances to gain profit. Average people are afraid to jeopardize their monthly pay check. Although people who depend on results to be rewarded are at a much higher risk than regular wage earners, their future possibilities are greater and they have fewer boundaries.

• Millionaires never say, "This is enough, I don't want more." Average people are grateful for what they have. There is a saying that you gain peace of mind by accepting what you have, but this may depend on what you have and what you want to have. Millionaires generally want to have more than they presently possess. If you know what you want, you know what you have to do toaccomplish those goals.

So there you have it. Being successful is a matter of mindset. It isn't any more or less difficult than the job you are doing now. The most challenging thing is finding the gumption and motivation to

A great website has a good user experience, a nice design, clever architecture and powerful words. The trouble is, it's hard to find one web developer who has the skills to deliver on all of these areas. That's why big businesses have separate UX, IA, and UI and editorial teams who work together.

Here is a Checklist

If it's hard (and expensive for big companies), it's even harder (and more expensive) for individuals. So here's a checklist of important things to bear in mind when it comes to creating and perfecting your website.

1. Less is more.

The more 'white space' you have on your website, the easier it'll be on the eye. The more pleasing it is to look at, the longer people will stay on it. Distracting designs - as fun or as cool as they may be - make it harder for the user to concentrate on the task at hand. Think about your own experiences. What websites did you click away from and which ones did you stay on?

2. Streamline your copy.

On a similar theme, don't have needless amounts of copy. The digital generation is too busy to read. Plus, they could well be looking at your website on a mobile phone, so lots of text will instantly feel like hard work. Edit, edit, edit. Hack away and make sure that every word has a purpose.

3. Be aware of your context.

Some websites have the ideal design, others have the perfect copy. Few have both aspects working together. Make sure that your words fit your web template perfectly. Anything else and your site will look sloppy and disconnected.

4. Know your user.

Your website is a shop window for your business, so you should know your best customers very well. You should know what they're after and how they're likely to use your website. Your personal tastes are irrelevant. Don't design in the dark and end up with a website that your audience won't understand it.

5. Does it work?

We've all been on websites with broken links. Frustrating, isn't it? Remember to test everything from the user journeys through to any contact details. Leave no stone unturned. I've left this tip until last for a reason. It's probably the tip you're most likely to ignore. But don't. Every visitor is a potential customer. So why put obstacles in their path? Especially when there are thousands, if not millions of competitors just a click away.

Your website is a shop window for your business.
