News & Notes

SOAR Forward For the last three Sundays, Pastor Lucas has led us through his sermons on the gifts of dreamers, questioners and realists – and how these gifts were part of Jesus’ life and God’s calling. Each of these qualities bring an aspect to HOPE and bring the support and action for moving forward. Each one of us uses these qualities in our lives and in our spiritual work. Each one of these qualities work well together when we want to accomplish God’s calling for us as a church. At our Quarterly meeting on Sunday, April 23rd we will provide more information about our work for the future and identifying those in our HOPE community who are dreamers, questioners and realists. Please watch for more information and join us after church on April 23rd to learn more about what HOPE is doing and what is happening next!

Bunco is Back! It’s Bunco Night @ HOPE UCC You are invited to "roll" with us at HOPE on Friday, April 21st at 7 p.m. Bring a snack and BYOB. The event is open to those 12 years old and up! Anyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent. Invite friends!! If you are new to the game, this is the event for you. The lovely Ms. Sally Bice will enlighten newbies as well as players with experience. Bunco is a great mixer, meaning you will interact with many other players throughout the evening.

The event is a mini-fundraiser with proceeds going to HOPE’s missions. The fee is $15 per person or get a group of four together for a "pod" for $50. Prizes and surprises will be provided!! Sign up at HOPE.

For more information see Shannon Lane, Trott, Tim Higgins or Jeanne Smith.

Calling all Dreamers, Questioners, and Realists!

On Sunday, April 23 after church service, we will hold our Quarterly Congregational Meeting. We will share quick updates on the church’s work AND talk about our next steps for our visioning for the upcoming year. The meeting will be 30-45 minutes. Please plan on attending. Thank you.

~ Registrar Trott

Sharing Joys & Concerns

Please keep these people & events in your prayers:

Thankful for the amazing doctors and all their skills and knowledge. They were able to diagnose my dad’s heart condition. He has a very serious, advanced stenosis in his aortic valve. Doctors said untreated he might live less than a year. My dad is eligible for a less risky, less invasive procedure to replace the valve. He will have the procedure this week! Please guide the cardiac team! Give my dad courage and pray for my brother and I, the caregivers. It’s been a few challenging weeks! (Jolene F.)

Dominick F. will be starting treatment for bladder cancer this week. (Linda J.)

Prayers of love and support for our sister and brother this week. Both have divorce court dates this week. (Tim & Marie)

Kelly M., our dear friend and sister, needs some extra love and prayers as she deals with some health issues. (Lela & Tanya)

My cousins who just lost their mother, my favorite aunt, Sandra M. (Robb)

Everyone everywhere, because who cannot use more prayers? (Nicole H.)

Our brother-in-law, Dan, whose father passed last week. (Ed & Julie H.)

The family of our dear friend, Peggie M., age 64. Peggie passed away last week. She was our friend since childhood. (Jackie & Les P.)

Friends who are hurting, physical and mentally. (Nick & Jane D.)

Edward S., as he travels back to Nevada. Safe journey. (Mark G.)

☺ Blessings to Terry and Mike, who are the foster parents of two beautiful two-month old baby girls. (Anna)

☺ My niece, Mercedes. She had a baby girl yesterday. Mother and daughter are doing great! (Linda L.)

☺ Thanks and Joy! My friend, John, starts a new job on Tuesday. So glad he will be able to support his wife, five kids and dog, Lily! (Jolene)

☺ Joy! Thankful for my son, Anthony. He is such a joy in my life. He turns 9 years old on Thursday! (Jolene)
