PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our
protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into
hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
PASTOR’S MESSAGE
Some years back, Japan asked the famous American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, to de-sign a hotel for Tokyo that would be capable of
surviving an earthquake. When Wright visited Japan to in-spect the site where the Imperial Hotel was to be built, he was appalled to find that the soil there was only about eight feet deep. Beneath that was 60 feet of soft mud that slipped and shook like jelly. Every test hole he dug filled up imme-diately with water. Now a lesser individual probably would have given up right there. But it was not such for Wright. Since the hotel was going to rest on fluid ground, Wright decided to build it like a ship. So instead of trying to keep the structure from moving during a quake, he incorporated features that would allow the hotel to ride out the shock without damage. Wright knew that the major cause of de-struction after an earthquake was fire, because water lines would break and there would be no way to put out the fire. So he insisted on a large outdoor pool in the courtyard of his hotel, "just in case." On September 1, 1923, Tokyo had the greatest earthquake in its history. There were fires all over the city, and 140,000 people died. News reports were slow in getting to the U.S. One newspaper wanted to print the story that the Imperial Hotel had been destroyed, as rumor had it. But when a reporter phoned Frank Lloyd Wright about it, he said that they could print the story if they liked, but they would only have to retract it later. He knew the hotel would not collapse. Shortly afterward, Wright got a telegram from Japan. The Imperial Hotel was completely undamaged. And when the fires that raged all around the hotel threatened to spread, bucket brigades kept the struc-ture wetted down with water from the hotel's pool! Frank Lloyd Wright knew about foundations. So does Jesus. He does not want his followers out in the world witnessing to something that they have not really experienced for them-selves, so He gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit as an inter-nal witness. We do not have to simply depend on a story that we heard long ago. God is forever fresh in our hearts. Jesus takes away our fears; He gives us a foundation; and
He accepts us just as we are.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Here is our Question of the Week. The encouragement is for
everyone to ponder that question or to dialogue in your
family prayer time, over this particular question.
Begin with prayer and then have someone pose the question.
Listen with respect to those who respond and close with
another short prayer, perhaps the Lord’s Prayer.
This week’s reflection questions are:
What hinders you from believing in Jesus in your life?
¿Qué es lo que le impide creer en Jesús en su vida?
Maintenance Position
We are in need of an experienced Maintenance Person. The job will include but not limited to keeping the church buildings and grounds clean, doing minor repairs, painting and making sure that all safety procedures are enforced. In addition, maintenance work and ground maintenance at the rectory will be required.
Position is Full time Sunday thru Thursday 1:00 PM-10:00 PM
(hours may vary as required).
If interested, please forward resume to Deacon Oscar Perez at [email protected].

the consecrated life.
It is in Christ and through Christ that we offer ourselves to You now and forever. Amen.

ninguna la justificación hasta que no se dirija con confi-
anza a Mi misericordia y por eso el primer domingo
después de Pascua ha de ser la Fiesta de la Misericor-

sobre Mi misericordia infinita.”
Our Lord’s words to St. Faustina, “No soul will be justi-fied until it turns with confidence to My mercy, and
this is why the first Sunday after Easter is to be the
Feast of Mercy. On that day, priests are to tell every-
one about My great and unfathomable mercy.”

“Joshua Cup” Project
The Youth Office and Our LIFE TEEN Core
have been praying for vocations for many years.
Now we have a project to actively involve all our
Holy Trinity Families. Joshua comes from the
Hebrew name ַיְה&ֻ%ע (Yehoshu'a) meaning
"YAHWEH is salvation". Joshua Cup Project is
a prayer activity to pray for vocations. We will purchase a
chalice that we as a parish will pray with for vocations.
Each week a different family will bring the chalice into
their home. As a family, you will pray for vocations then
pass the chalice to another family. When we have a young
man ordained as Priest, he will be presented with this chal-
ice. Please consider joining us, sign up to be one of the fam-
ilies as our chalice starts to travel around the Holy Trinity
Community. For instructions to join us go to
holytrinitysatyouth.org/Ministry/Joshua Cup
IT’S TIME FOR THE

Christ in a new and personal way. Come and participate in

DIVORCED & SEPARATED GROUP MEETING
Reflection ~ Overcoming Fear
One of the most common reactions to divorce is fear. That is very understandable. Who wouldn't be scared if their entire life came crashing in around them? The problem with fear is not being scared, that's normal. The problem is acting on fear. That's when fear becomes a lousy strategy.
Here is a better strategy: hope. Hope is not about ignoring the real-ity of being afraid. It is not some mind-psych game you play to pretend you are not afraid. Hope is acknowledging your fear and then making a decision to totally trust God. It is putting the fear into God's hands and allowing Him to carry it for you, relieving you of the burden. The fundamental ingredient of hope is trust. It is about trusting that God has not, and never will, abandon you. It is trusting that He is walking with you through this extremely pain-ful, lonely, and discouraging time in your life. It is trusting that He really does want you to have an abundance of peace and joy, and that He has a great plan for you to get it-even though you have no idea what that plan is. Focusing on that really does help to move past the fear of the present and look forward to a very positive, hopeful, future.
We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces en-
durance, and endurance produces character, and character pro-
duces hope, and hope does not disappoint us. - Romans 5: 3-5

Reflections on Marriage
“When people look at us, do they conclude
that “We” are NOT afraid of saying we love Jesus? “
~Unknown~
Reflections:
• Do we pray as a couple/family in public without being ashamed of what others may think?
• When we are with our friends or at work, do we allow Jesus to be part of our friendship, or do we try to keep Jesus in the background?
• Is our marriage an image of Jesus’ marriage to the Church; that
is, a faithful, indissoluble and sacrificial bond?
