HOLY FAMILY PARISHIONERS: Welcome to the 2nd Sunday & week of Lent! As we continue our journey through the season of reform & re-newal, we are called to daily change. That theme is carried out in our Gospel reading this weekend in the Lord’s Transfiguration. The Transfiguration is a foreshadowing of what will happen to Jesus after Calvary. When Jesus is transfig-ured, changed, on that mountain into a glorious figure---that is what will occur come the Resurrection. He will be glorified. He will appear as someone shining & radiant. The Lord’s Transfiguration calls us to change this Lent. Come Easer weekend, will we appear as transfigured into new & radiant followers of Christ? Will the 40 days of Lent have been ones of newness for us? Will the reform & renewal of this season be a reality in the different way we will live our lives?

Change is hard. To be other than we are isn’t the easiest thing. To challenge ourselves to accept the call to transform our actions is

difficult. But look at what can happen if we do. We are able to be better examples of the Risen Lord. We have the opportunity to become holier & richer in our lives of faith. We have the possibility of shedding our old way of life & enter into a deeper & more profound way of liv-ing. When Jesus appeared to His disciples after the Resur-rection, they did not recognize Him. He had been totally changed in appearance, totally transfigured. His new & glorified body was so radiant & “other” than what it had been previously. This is what can happen in a smaller way to us right now. Our earthly bodies are able to be transfigured into better & more shining examples of what we should be as baptized Catholics. YOUR “LENTEN PASTOR,” FATHER JOE

ST. TERESA will perform Sister Act by Alan Menken & Glenn Slater in the Joe Venturi Gymnasium on March 2 & 3 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7. Please support the St. T. Drama Department.

NOTICE in the church vestibule the podium which has the Book of the Elect. The names of our 3 young Cate-chumens are listed, with our Bishop’s signature at the bot-tom. Please pray for our Catechumens, as well as our 2 Candidates. Their pictures with their Godparents & Sponsors are on the bulletin board as you enter church.

SISTER PARISH NEWS: Please read the flyer in this weekend’s bulletin about our Sister Parish in San Salva-dor. You will see how our monies are being spent & how needed they are. We are helping our brothers & sisters in San Laureano in many ways. Continue to pray for them daily! Remember---the amber-colored vigil candle in our candle area is lit continuously as a reminder to us to pray for our Sister Parish. AND, look at the Sister Parish bulletin board in our church vestibule which has been up-dated with new pictures by Joanne Kater, our parish secretary. Thanks to her for her work!
