Collection
You are urged to continue to support Holy Rosary Parish during this time of crisis. The best way for our congregation to sustain the parish is by using the PARISH GIVING online giving service. You can imagine how much it would mean to the Parish to receive some stream of income during these times when collections are not being taken up manually. Just go to the parish website: holyrosaryhawthorne.org you will see the Parish Giving logo. Sign up to support Holy Rosary Parish. Of course, dropping off your envelope at the Rectory or sending it in by mail is always an option. Holy Rosary gratefully acknowledges the donations that have been mailed and dropped off to the Rectory. Thank you for your continued support!!!

In today’s Gospel, notice how Jesus praises God, first as Father, then as Lord of Heaven and earth, bringing together intimacy and transcendence. His primary relationship with the One Israel called Lord, is captured by the word “Father.” This relationship of Father-Son defined Jesus in a way that takes us into the heart of the Mystery of the Trinity. But then Jesus opens this relationship to us: “No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal Him: (Matthew 11:27). More wonderful still is Jesus’ revelation to us that the Father has revealed “these things” to the little ones rather than the wise and learned. What “things” are these? The truth that the Son is meek and humble of heart, the one foretold by Zechariah as coming not as a warrior but as a peacemaker, bringing peace to the nations, a cause for rejoicing. In a world so often torn by war and violence, Jesus wishes us to put on His yoke, to be guided living in the Spirit of God (Romans 8).
Do you ask the Son to reveal the Father to you . . . daily?
Make a Difference in the World Pray that young men in our Archdiocese will hear
and answer God’s call to the priesthood.

Today’s Readings
Reading I: Zechariah 9:9-10 Responsorial Psalm: 145:1-2, 8-9, 10-11, 13-14
Reading II: Romans 8:9, 11-13 Gospel: Matthew 11:25-30
1st Reading Thus says the LORD: Rejoice heartily, O daughter Zion, shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem! See, your king shall come to you; a just savior is he, meek, and riding on an ass, on a colt, the foal of an ass. He shall banish the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; the warrior’s bow shall be banished, and he shall proclaim peace to the nations. His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
Responsorial Psalm I will praise your name for ever, my king and my God.
2nd Reading Brothers and sisters: You are not in the flesh; on the contrary, you are in the spirit, if only the Spirit of God dwells in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you. Consequently, brothers and sisters, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Gospel At that time Jesus exclaimed: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.” “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”
Prayer for Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, Come at least spiritually into my
heart. I embrace you as if you were already there And unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
