PARISH EVENTS & NEWS – THIS WEEK
LETTER FROM FR. TOM: As pastor, I always enjoy
celebrating the good things happening in our parish. It is
great to celebrate our parishioners coming together and
reaching a goal. I am happy to share with everyone that
we’ve met our Bishop’s Appeal goal. Our goal was
$62,253 and as of today, we have received $66,068.25,
which is 106% of our goal. It is wonderful that you all came
together and met our goal even in this time of Covid-19. I
would like to thank everyone who participated.
The Bishop’s Appeal was a big success. I would now
like to encourage everyone to continue to support our
parish, if at all possible. Since we are not currently having
Masses, our support has decreased; however, our
expenses have not gone away. There are many ways to
help. You can mail in your church support. Our offices are
open so you can drop it off, and pick up a bulletin if you are
driving past. I would encourage as many people as
possible to sign up for Online Giving. This could be a
regularly scheduled gift, or a one time gift. Visit our parish
website (https://www.holyfamilybrillion.org/) and sign up.
This can come directly from your bank account or you can
use a credit card. I know many people are struggling, and
if you have lost your job or your income, we understand;
but if you are blessed with continued work, then perhaps
you could make a temporary increase to help others out.
As we go through this pandemic, we are keeping
everyone in our prayers. We are working with our school
and faith formation students, we have been making calls,
and sending letters. We would encourage each of you to
reach out to your neighbors in socially responsible ways.
We are community, and all of you are doing good things to
help each other out. Peace, Fr. Tom Pomeroy

SCRIP NEWS OF THE WEEK:
The end of the school year is almost here, and it’s time
to congratulate our hardworking graduates and the
teachers who inspire them! Scrip is the perfect gift to
express appreciation and celebrate accomplishments.
You can find a variety of Scrip options in large or small
denominations.
Scrip is available at church, at Collins State Bank –
Brillion by purchasing it in the drive–thru, and online at
www.shopwithscrip.com.
CEMETERY SPRING CLEANING: The Cemetery
committees of Brillion, Reedsville, and Maple
Grove will be having a spring clean-up in each
cemetery. Please have your old decorations
taken down or they will be removed. Thank
you for your help.
PRAYER LINE: The purpose of a prayer line is to give
spiritual help to those in need through our prayers.
Knowing that others are praying with you during times of
serious illness, an accident, major surgery or family crisis
can bring great comfort. If there is a need, please call
Regina Fischer at 756-2493, Darlene Christel at 756-2986,
or Mickey Breit at 756-2176 and your intention will be
passed on to others in the line. If you would be willing to
share your prayer time for another’s needs, please call
Regina Fischer and you will be added to the list.

THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD
THOUGHTS ON TODAY’S READINGS:
In today’s Gospel, Jesus prays, “I have given You
glory on earth by finishing the work You gave Me to
do.” Good stewards follow His example by using
their time and talents for the glory of God.
STEWARDSHIP: SHARING GOD’S GIFTS:
Have you ever thought about how many of your free
hours you spend doing things for yourself versus how
many you spend doing things for others?
We are so grateful for your financial gifts!
THANK YOU to those of you who signed up to begin
Online Giving. If you have not yet signed up for
Online Giving, please prayerfully consider this option.
Not only can it be used along with our offering
envelopes, families of Holy Family School and Faith
Formation can pay student tuition online. To sign up
today, you can visit our parish website at
www.holyfamilybrillion.org.
HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE is beginning Sunday,
May 31. Bishop David Ricken has
approved allowing parishioners to
come to church in small numbers for a
Communion Service and can safely do
so starting on Sundays. There will be
multiple restrictions including the
recommendation that no one over the age of 65 and
those with compromised immunity are encouraged to
stay home. Those wishing to receive the Blessed
Sacrament will have their temperature taken, wear a
protective mask, observe social distancing, and
practice proper hand washing hygiene. Only nine
people will be in church at any one time. More about
our plans for Holy Family will be forthcoming in
communications though Facebook and Flocknote.
Make sure you are signed up to receive these
communications.
