ACTIVITY SNAPSHOT OF THE HOLY FAMILY EX-STUDENTS ASSOCIATION FROM JANUARY 2006 - DECEMBER 2006. The Holy Family High School Ex-Students Association continued its efforts as a bridge between the school and its Alumni in the year 2005. The Association had earlier drawn up its association and had pledged to meet at least once a month on the third Sunday of each month at 11.00 am in the school library. Over the period January 2006 – December 2006, this association has met 12 times. And as on December 31 st 2006 has 1755 registered members. The latest entrants being 297 members from 2006 pass out batch. The Ex-Students Association would like to place on record the unstinting support given by Fr. Swamy (Principal), Fr. Jude (Ex-Vice Principal), Sister Iona (Vice Principal), Helene George (Teacher), Mrs. Dande (Teacher) & all the teachers of the school, Office staff and peons through out the past year. Some of the highlights of the Association are as follows: Pawan Pruthi was elected as the President of the Association. Fr. Francis Swamy, the Principal of Holy Family High School, is the Ex-Officio Chairman of the association. Sister Iona (Vice Principal) is a permanent member of the core committee as also is the Headmistress Sister Shaila. The Core Committee Office Bearers were elected as follows: President Pawan Pruthi Vice – President Sandeep Narayan Other Core Committee Active members Secretary Viki Lingeria Joint Secretary Chandresh Naik Joseph Nathan, John Neelankavil, Rajeev Walke, Daniel, Anil Kadival Treasurer Ganesh Krishnan Joint Treasurer Ramesh Waghela Events held from January 2006 to December 2006 1) Vocational Guidance Program and Career Counseling – Your association organized a Vocational guidance program in August’2006 in the school Hall. Ms. Shailaja Mullay, a professional Vocational Guidance and an expert councilor, conducted this program. The program was a huge success judging by the attendance of parents and students of Std Xth. 143 students attended the program. The speaker gave details on the choices available for students after finishing school. Basic faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, post graduation courses and career prospects were covered. Subsequently a written Aptitude test was arranged for the student in the school. A final counseling with each student and their parents was conducted. 2) Inter School Antakshari Contest – Your association organized Antakshari contest Inter School Multi Talent contest on 10 th September’2006. Teams from 11 schools from the Andheri & Vile Parle participated in the competition. The Rolling Shield was won by Parle Tilak from Vile Parle East. Divine Child from Andheri East and Holy Family from Andheri East were the first & second runner up respectively.

ACTIVITY SNAPSHOT OF THE HOLY FAMILY EX-STUDENTS ASSOCIATION FROM JANUARY 2006 - DECEMBER 2006.

The Holy Family High School Ex-Students Association continued its efforts as a bridge between the school and its Alumni in the year 2005.

The Association had earlier drawn up its association and had pledged to meet at least once a month on the third Sunday of each month at 11.00 am in the school library. Over the period January 2006 – December 2006, this association has met 12 times. And as on December 31st 2006 has 1755 registered members. Events held from January 2006 to December 2006

1) Vocational Guidance Program and Career Counseling – Your association organized a Vocational guidance program in August’2006 in the school Hall. 3) Adopt a child and Nutrition program – The nutrition program now provides breakfast to 25 students. The program is running successfully for the last few years. In the year 2006 year the program offered breakfast to students from January to April & from November to December.

4) Magazines for School Library - In November 2006, the association initiated an annual subscription for the following magazines for the secondary school library.

a. Navneet News House – Weekly magazineb. SportStar – Weekly Magazinec. Gokulam – Monthly Magazine

5) Retirement of School Staff - Mrs. Dorothy and Mrs. Carvelho retired in the year 2006. Viki Lingeria had attended the farewell ceremony as the Secretary of the Association. Mrs. Lily Pinto too retired in the year 2006 and Joseph Nathan attended the farewell ceremony as the committee member of the association. A token amount via cheque was presented to the above school teachers as a souvenir for their service towards the school and their students.

6) Holy Family Ex-Students Website – In December 2006 the association tied up with an application service provider to launch its very own website – www.holyfamilyexstudents.org . The initial phase of content management is under way.

7) Database CD – The association presented a database CD of the 10th standard students passing out in year 2006. The CD contains addresses and photographs of the 10th standard students and photographs of teachers.

8) JAAI West Zone Congress – John Neelankavil, Joseph Nathan & Viki Lingeria attended the Jesuits Alumni Association of India’s West Zone Congress in Pune. The focus of the meeting was to network among west zone alumni associations & to contribute towards water harvesting in the society.

9) Jesuit Alumni Mumbai Meet – To mark the 500th birth anniversary of St. Francis Xavier, 450th death anniversary of St. Ignatius Loyola & 50 years of World Union of Jesuit Alumni a special alumni nite JAAN was organized in November’2006 at St. Stanislaus School, Bandra. John Neelankavil in particular along with Joseph Nathan & Viki Lingeria from Holy Family Ex-Students association assisted in organizing the event. Approximately 500 alumnis attended the event.
