In a move that will save our parents money and ensure for enhanced cus-
tomer service when shopping for HFCS Uniforms, we have decided to estab-
lish a partnership with a new Uniform Company, Risse Brothers. The HFCS
uniform apparel line will remain the same next year, with the addition of op-
tional boys bow ties and sweater vests. The average cost of the merchandise
as compared to Flynn & O’Hara will decrease by 16% and we have already
made plans to have four (4) on-site (at HFCS) uniform sales days in July,
August, October and one additional date TBD. Our new Risse Brothers rep-
resentative, Molly Bublik, will be posting her contact information on our
website in the next few weeks. We will also be providing you with a mer-
chandise price list for the entire HFCS uniform apparel line. The ordering
information will be posted on our school website in March.
Raffle ticket sales for our upcoming Gala Auction have been moving slowly.
If you can help sell tickets after one of the Masses this Sunday, please let us
know. All of the proceeds from the Auction will go to fund our Lab Learner
Science Program.

Congratulations to our boys basketball team on their impressive showing at
this year’s Annual St. Patrick’s Basketball Tournament. The gentlemen fal-
cons defeated St. Patrick's’ in an exciting come from behind victory and then
won their second game to earn a spot in the semifinal game against Holy
Cross. Although they came up short the boys played a great game and gave
their best effort until the final buzzer sounded. As usual, the boys conducted
themselves with distinction on and off the court. I would like to especially
thank Coach Moreno for the Christ like example that he consistently pro-
vides our student athletes. He has built a program based on teamwork, ca-
maraderie, sportsmanship and tenacity of effort. Thank you again coach
Morano for all that you’ve done of our student athletes, we greatly appreci-
ate your tireless efforts. Thanks to all of our parents for your support
throughout the season. Go Falcons!!!
I would also like to congratulate our students on their exceptional projects at
this year’s Science Fair. Special thanks to Mrs Hagen-Gates on her out-
standing efforts in putting together this year’s Science Fair. Thank you also
to our parent judges and the Knights of Columbus for their consistent and
strong show of support for Holy Family Catholic School.
Thank you again for your continued support of our school, we greatly appre-
ciate it!
God Bless You,
Joseph M. McLaughlin, Principal

A major part our school’s mission is focused on service to others, especially our needy and marginalized brothers and
sisters. Congratulations to our students for their overwhelming success in collecting funds to support “A Best Choice”, a
pro-life organization that helps mothers and their unborn children. The final tally of funds collected by HFCS students, for
the baby bottle drive totaled $1,831 ; our greatest collection to date. Thanks again to our parents and extended
family members for their giving spirit and generous support of this worthwhile campaign. Special thanks to
Mrs. Long, Mrs. Piotter and our wonderful National Junior Honor Society Members for their efforts to support
this year’s event and inspiring us all to show support for the unborn.
This past week our Mentors & Mentees took a pro-active stance against littering.
During their lunchtime, dressed in appropriate attire, students could be seen
picking up trash around the grounds. This act of random kindness was an yet an-
other example of student teamwork, respect of nature, and school pride. Great Job!

This saint was the sister of the great St. Benedict. She consecrated herself to God from her earliest youth, as St. Gregory testifies. Where her first monastery was situated is not mentioned; but after her brother removed to Mount Cassino she chose her retreat at Plombariola, in that neighborhood, where she founded and governed a nunnery about five miles distant to the south from St. Benedict’s monastery.
