Daily Mass 8:00 am in Chapel. No morning Mass when there’s a funeral.
New Adoration Chapel opens this weekend Following 10:30 a.m. Mass this Sunday, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), Father McDonald will process with the Blessed Sacrament and en-shrine it in the new Our Lady Queen of the Angels Perpetual Adoration Chapel. From that point forward, we will begin using the new chapel for perpetual adoration. If you haven’t signed up yet for an hour of adoration, or received your key card for secure entry to the chapel, please stop by the table in the narthex after Mass or see Joyce or Dana in the parish office. Our goal is to achieve 24/7 cover-age with someone in the chapel around the clock. Will you consider spending an hour with Our Lord once a week?

“Stay with us, Lord!” Jesus’ companions on the road to Emmaus begged Our Lord to stay with them, and He did so in a mysterious way that God had planned all along: in the Most Holy Eucharist.
Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ, when we honor in a special way the Real Presence of Jesus – body, blood, soul, and divinity – in the Holy Eucharist.
This great feast, historically called Corpus Christi, has been celebrated for 764 years! It was sanctioned by Pope Urban IV in 1264, to be celebrated on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday. At the Pope’s request, St. Thomas Aquinas com-posed the Mass and the Office used for this day – and four of his hymns are still beloved and in use today: Pange Lingua, Tantum Ergo, Panis Angelicus, and O Salutaris Hostia. Two things – a saint’s devotion and a Eucharistic miracle caused Pope Urban IV to declare this feast in the Church – do you know which saint? Which miracle? Check out our parish web site to find out!
In modern times, many bishops transferred the liturgical celebration to the Sunday after Trinity Sunday so that more of the faithful could participate in the festivities, from Holy Mass to Eucharistic processions. This year, Pope Francis also moved the Eucharistic procession in Rome from Thursday to Sunday.
This is a great day to remember that we believe that the unique and true presence of the Body, Blood, Soul, and Di-vinity of Christ is really present in the Holy Eucharist, even though it has the appearances of bread and wine. The faithful are invited to deepen their faith in the Real Presence of Christ through Mass and Holy Communion as well as through acts of adoration outside of Mass.
Did you know that the Sacred Hear t Basilica on Montmar tre hill in Par is has been ador ing the exposed Blessed Sacrament – the True Presence of Jesus among us – since August 1, 1885? That’s every minute of every hour of every day for 133 years. Adoration continued despite two World Wars, even on one night in 1944 when bombs blew out the Basilica’s stained glass windows.
The Basilica’s very vocation is adoration as “continuous intercession for the Church and for the whole world, and an everlasting source of grace, light, and peace.” It was here where the 14-year-old St. Therese, “the Little Flower,” dedi-cated herself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Today is a great day to commit to a weekly hour of adoration of Our Lord, Who is worthy of our adoration, Who “loved us first” (1 John 4:19), and Who continues to communicate His grace to us in this mystery of faith.
For more information on the Eucharist, see the Gospels (Matthew 26: 26-35; Mark 14:22-31; Luke 22: 7-38
and 24:13-35; John 6); Catechism, Article 3 (1322-1419); and on FORMED.org: Lectio: The Eucharist (study), Hostia (film), and True Worship (audio).
