As we welcome in the New Year, I hope that everyone had a well-deserved rest over the Christmas period. First of all, I would like to personally thank you for your business last year. I am pleased to say that 2014 was a successful year for Holt JCB, with close to 1600 machines sold in the South West and South Wales, as well as welcoming a large number of new customers to the JCB Family. Throughout 2014 we continued to invest in the business, to further support our customers. With more engineers, parts personnel and depot managers, we plan to continue this trend in 2015. I am delighted to advise you all that Holt JCB has continued to rank the highest in the customer care award throughout the year

NEW STARTERSWelcoming our new starters for 2015, Michalea Curtis, Charlotte Vickers and Emily Hamnett-Harris. Michaela joins us as Aftermarket Support Manager, Charlotte fills the role of Management Accountant and Emily is the new Sales Administrator.

JCB IN THE KNOWIn 1958, Mr. JCB bought 10

scooters with the number plates JCB1 to JCB10. Over the years JCB has purchased registration plates for all company cars, which incidentally are all white. JCB owns the numbers 1-14 & 17-20, 15 & 16 are still missing.

JCB is to launch a comprehensive range of site dumpers at next month’s Executive Hire Show.

The JCB site dumper line-up will be based around four popular weight classes. Compact one and two tonne machines have been designed primarily for house building and

landscaping contractors, while 3-3.5 tonne models will suit general construction and rental businesses. Both 6 and 9-10 tonne dumpers offer the ultimate carrying capacity for larger earthmoving projects.

High-tip, forward tip and swivel skip models will be offered, catering for rental market and contracting requirements in a wide variety of jobsite applications. Engine out-puts range from 20-120hp (15.5kW-90kW) and both synchro-shuttle and hydrostatic transmissions are available to deliver ease of use and maximum travel speeds.

Here we see our Devon customers J.A.S. Construction with their newly delivered 540-170. This is the only 17 meter JCB machine in Cornwall to have a remote man basket attached to it.

Holt JCB’s aftersales team in Bodmin have been working with our Cornish customers for over 20 years, building strong relationships, whilst providing fantastic parts and service.

Firstly, Jeff Morford has 46 years experi-ence in parts distributiom - 21 with Holt JCB - and knows all the customers very well. Joining the team more recently, Daniel Jeune has 35 years experience in the AG/ Construction industry. Having done his apprenticeship with Massey Ferguson, he then worked for JCB in Jersey, before moving to Cornwall to work for us!

Bodmin also has two qualified service engineers, Adam Symons and Adam Aston.

Daniel will be visiting as many customers in the coming year as possible, to introduce himself and continue to build relationships with new and existing Bodmin customers.
