Changes in Aerification

Each year it is our goal to continue improving our core-aeration practices This year

to promote the quickest healing and recover time possible we are going to wait on

aerification until March 23rd 24th and 25th This schedule change was made to promote an

optimum healing window of growth for the turf By waiting two weeks later this year for

warmer weather we feel like the number of days the surfaces are in the healing process will

be reduced This year the golfing schedule really starts to get busy at the end of April with the Invitational being on the

first weekend in May By moving aerification we will be reducing the amount of time we have before the start of the

busy season but we feel the warmer weather will help us offset this schedule change

As we have done in years past we are going to accomplish two complete core-aerations over a three day period

On Monday the 23rd all the putting surfaces will be punched cleaned-up and top-dressed by the end of the day Then

the following day on Tuesday the 24th we will repeat the process again in a one day period We have set aside the final

day the 25th as a buffer day in case we have any issues the day prior All three days are very labor-intensive for the

staff and we normally work from sunrise to sunset to get as much as possible accomplished each day Following this

schedule we are able to complete all core-aeration practices in one week and then just concentrate on healing This will

cause the course to be closed over a three day period but when compared to the weeks of recovery time you can save

it is well worth the extra days of inconvenience
