When I was a child I was blessed with a mom who taught me that I could do whatever I put my mind to. I could usually tell the difference when my mind was committed to something or not ;) Mom understood the power of thought and she unknowingly laid the ground work for this ministry I’m doing now. In my teen and young adult years the friends that I let influence me, led me away from this mental knowing. My clarity and confidence both suffered for a while and I was easily influenced in sometimes destructive ways. When I was introduced to this philosophy in my late 20’s it re -awakened the original mind-set and took it many steps forward. At that moment my mind and spirituality were inter-twined. Yay!!! I trust that you’re as grateful for this philosophy as I am, and I delight in the awakenings that happen for you. I love that this philosophy is about Principles rather than rules. In my Sunday messages I often say that knowing these teachings are a good start but if we don’t apply them in our lives they’re not much use. The Science of Mind doesn’t ask us to believe in a savior, rather to contact the Source inside ourselves. We don’t need to pray a certain way, instead take time to commune with the God of our understanding every day; and we don’t need to figure out what God wants from us, but to fully express the life God lives by means of us. During the month of Sept. my talks will focus on applying these teachings in our personal lives. We may say “there is only Oneness”, but how are we in relationship with others? We may say “God is all there is” then find ourselves struggling with financial flow. These and other ideas will be life situations we explore. Come join me for a great month with a lot to think about. Together we are awesome! September/October 2015 “The Community That Love Is Building” Rev. The One Source of all Life is present everywhere & through everything. There is no lack, no judgement and nothing missing in the One. The Love, Abundance, Wholeness, Peace and anything else I can imagine comes from the Source.

This includes me; I am a creation of the Source, therefore I am Love, Abundance, Wholeness Peace and anything else I can call myself. I know the One is living by means of me and I count on it. Whatever I know is true of me, is true of all.

I speak this word for everyone reading this prayer; every one of us is co-creating with the Source each and every day and it is our delight to get our mind-set in alignment with our highest good. There is nothing too big or too small to the Source that creates all, so I trust that whatever we are calling forth is for our greatest good. I know I am creating with a Power that is greater than me and at the same time, within me. I claim love, abundance, wholeness and peace as ours now. These truths I speak are certain.

I am grateful to know and remember the Truth for all of us. I release this word into the Law. And so it is!

The Eternal Now As the seasons change and we move again into autumn, I’m reminded of the cyclical

nature of time. Throughout most of history, humans lived in a cyclical mindset and not the linear one we do now. Every year winter turned into spring and the seasons flowed until

winter came back around. Each day turned to night and then to day again. For them it

didn’t matter if they missed a particular time of day for it would come around again. We, on the other hand, act as if an opportunity is missed forever if we miss a single lunch date.

There are still people who live this way. My brother, as an anthropology student, interviewed a Native

RCMP officer who worked the reservation. The officer was nearly an hour late but thought nothing of it. For him nothing could be missed because that time always came around again.

There is also the story of a family that owned a castle bed and breakfast/winery in the U.K. A writer who spent a week there told of how a hail storm killed their whole crop. She felt bad for them, but the family

took it in stride. They had a cyclical mindset and knew that next year there would be another crop.

The cyclical mindset makes me think of what Ernest Holmes calls the eternal Now. He says, “There is no uncertainty about my future and no fear as a result of my past. I

live in an eternal Now which is filled with good alone.” (S.O.M. 264.5) When we can live in a place where we feel there is no end and no beginning, we can find peace like

the owner of the winery. He wasn’t upset about his destroyed crops because harvest

time would come around again. He lived in the eternal Now where all is possible.

This fall, as the days get shorter and shorter and some trees lose their leaves, remind yourself that the light always returns and that before long the trees will bud again. Use the cycle of the seasons as a remembrance

of the eternal Now and, like the farmer, know that another opportunity is already alive and just over the horizon. It’s just waiting for your mind to realize it.
