TITLE: PROSPERING GOD’S WAY

1. TIMOTHY 6:9-10“Those who want to get rich

fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and

harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and

destruction.

• For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered

from the faith and pierced themselves with many

griefs.”NIV

PROSPTERITY •Comes from a Latin word

prosperitas, which means •Doing well, a long period of

peace• In Greek: wealth, gain,

plenty and success

God wants believers to prosper3 John 1:2, Jeremiah 29:11

•“Beloved, I pray that in all

respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your

soul prospers.” (NKJV)

God’s blessings bring Prosperity. Proverbs 10:22• “It is the blessing of the

LORD that makes rich, And He adds no sorrow to it.”

(NASB)

1. YOU MUST HAVE A VISION AND PURPOSE. Deutronomy 8:19

•"But you shall remember the LORD your

God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may

confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

• “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the

law, happy is he. Proverbs” 29:18 KJV

Psalms 49:20

• People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beasts that

perish. (NSTB)

2 Corinthians 9:10• “And God is able to bless you

abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all

that you need, you will abound in every good work”

2. BE DILIGENT IN YOUR WORKPROVERBS 13:4

• “Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard

will” prosper. (NLT)

Diligence brings promotionProverb 12:24• Those who work hard will be put in charge of others, but lazy people will have to work like

slaves. (ESV)

•Be committed to your work•Do your work with

excellence•You will grow and multiply

3.FOLLOW EVERY INSTRUCTION FROM THE WORD. JOSH1 :8• “This book of the Law shall

not depart out of your mouth, but you shall

meditate on it by day and by night”,

• so that you may be careful to do according to all that

is written in it. For then you shall make your way

prosperous, and then you shall act wisely. (MKJV)

•You can choose to prosper your way or God’s way•Prosperity that does not

come from the Lord comes with pain.

4.KEEP YOUR BOOKS CLEANROMANS 13:6-9

• “So you must obey the government, not just because you might be

punished, but because you know it is the right thing to do. And this is

why you pay taxes too. ………

• Those rulers are working for God, and they give all their time to the

work of ruling.Give everyone what you owe them. If you owe them any

kind of tax, then pay it. Show respect to those you should respect. And show honor to those you should

honor.” (ERV)

5. PAY YOUR TITHEMalachi 3:8-11

• “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering! You are cursed with a curse; for you are robbing Me, the nation, all of it………

Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. And test

Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, to see if I will not

open the windows of Heaven for you, and pour out a blessing

for you, until there is not enough room………

• And I will rebuke your devourer, and he shall not

decay the fruit of your ground against you; nor shall

your vine miscarry against you in the field, says Jehovah

of Hosts. (MKJV)

• When you give tithe you are honoring God• It is a covenant offering• It opens the window of heaven• It brings blessings • It brings protection• It shows your trust in God

TESTIMONY ON TITHE. #1

“I have for the most of my life known that I should Tithe, but I always justified through my giving to the needy, support to extended family in form of school fees, ………….

• tough economic times, at times I even felt like the church was putting pressure on me over my hard earned money……

• I did lift my hands but in me I was like is it really possible....... anyway after that I was like, I will give it a trial,help me God!!.

• One sunday you preached on this topic and at the end you asked us the congregation to lift our hands and asked God for forgiveness where we have not been faithful with our Tithe. ………..

• I started by giving Tithe of a 5 figure digit and the Lord kept increasing the Zeros, obviously is was a struggle but I obeyed. In the past 2 years or so I have seen the Lord open doors I never even knew existed. The Lord has been so faithful He has blessed me and my family,

• He has kept away the pests, those issues that used to drain us financially the Lord has sealed them, He has blessed us with staff who are not wasteful and careless, He has given me favor, I have been promoted at work with a good package.

• Paying Tithe has taught me to trust upon the Lord as my PROVIDER and not what I earn , I have learnt to be realist with God by separating GIVING and TITHE.

• It doesn't mean I don't have problems in my life but what I can testify is the difference I have experienced since I started Tithing. ……..

• Am not a high profile Pentecostal am a normal born again Christian with normal struggles in life but Tithing has made such a difference in my life I wish I had started earlier.”

TESTIMONY #2 (DPC MEMBER)• “I have been born again for a

long time but I didn’t give tithe. I thought because I am a servant of God serving through singing and preaching, I should eat my tithe.

• I didn’t know that pastors and other servant of God give tithe. I would give my offerings to orphans widows and I thought it was enough.

• One year ago I come Dar es Salaam and I join DPC. I learnt about Giving and I started giving tithe without having a permanent job. Whatever money I got whether small or big, I gave my tithe faithfully.

•Miraculously God has given me a very good job and has blessed me in other areas in my life.”
