Flights to Dehli.We researched return flights from Dublin to

Delhi airport for a couple departing on the 6th of June and returning on the 20th .• Budget flight - €1532 Delhi airlines. • Blowout flight - €2020 Etihad airlines.

AccommodationWe found a 5 star hotel, The Westen hotel

and spa, situated in Delhi close to the airport for €272 for the couple per night. This works out at €3536 for the couple for the 13 nights they are staying in India.

The most affordable hostel we could find in Delhi was the Smyle inn. This costs €12.22 for the couple per night, this worked out at at €158.86 for the 13 nights the couple were staying in India.

Local food in Delhi. The Punjabis love to experiment and try everything, there is a

veritable splash of cuisines you can sample. Thai, Lebanese, Chinese, Israeli, Italian and,much more of the local Indian stuff. What the Delhites don’t like, they amend. Like the famous Indian-Chinese, which is a Delhi product.

‘Going out’ in Delhi is usually associated with food. They like to use very exquisite aromas and spices in their foods.

Indian food is commonly bought in the local markets. This is where the widest variety of spices are available. Indian markets are most popularly known for their fresh food.

Blowout Spa days in Delhi are extremely popular with

tourists. Experience a different spa experience in Delhi. They are famous for the treatment where you put your feet into a bath of eels and the hard skin is removed. A spa package in Maithila, Delhi costs €1499. Money well spent!!

Amazing things to do when visiting Delhi, IndiaOne spectacular place you can visit while in dehli is the nizamuddin

dargah, this is where you can go for a spiritual experience to hear Qawwali music. This is a popular music form associated with Sufi music and is a fusion of devotional poetry and Hindustani music. This music type also has a soothing effect on its listeners and is well worth going to see while visiting Dehli. Opening hours are 5:30 - 10:00 every evening and costs aprox €15 pps.

-Another amazing place to visit while in Dehli is the Jama Masjid it is a marvellous treasure of old Dehli and is the largest mosque in India. While visiting you are allowed to make the strenuous climb up the southern. Tower where you will be rewarded with stunning views across the rooftops of Dehli. You must dress appropriately while visiting ie. Covering head, legs and shoulders or you will not be allowed in. The mosque is open daily except during prayer times between 12 and 2. It is free to enter but there is a camera fee of €5 if you want to take pictures.

Historical attractions to DelhiAt the centre of New Delhi stands the 42 meter high 'India

gate', it is something like the arc de triumphe but in the middle of the crossroad like this it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I. The memorial is covered in the names of more than 13,516 British and Indian soldiers killed in the Northwestern Frontier in the Afghan war of 1919. It is free to visit and there is a metro station quite close.

It was built by Duke of Connaught in 1921 and it was designed by Edwin Lutyens. Another memorial, Amar Jawan Jyoti was added much later, after India got its independence. The eternal flame burns day and night under the arch to remind people of the people who died in Indo-Pakistan War of December 1971.

The Indian gate is most spectacular at night and is well worth visiting while in Delhi.
