Students to prepare a PPT/ scrap file on the respective chapters as per their roll numbers given below from the Main Textbook Honeydew and Supplementary Reader English It So Happened…on the basis of their roll nos given in bracket.

Instructions for the Holiday Homework

• Bring Holiday Homework in a beautifully decorated scrap file with the cover page aesthetically done.

• Parents are requested to only guide their children while doing the assignment. • Originality of the work will be appreciated. • Homework will be assessed on the basis of neatness, creativity and originality of ideas.

PREPARATION

For students preparing a PPT, following points to be kept in mind.

• Note: Maximum slides - 10 • Audio and Video files should be inserted. • Comic Strips based on the chapter can also be inserted.

Students making a Scrap file to keep the following points in mind.

• Students to take a blank coloured scrap file having A4 size sheets. • It is mandatory to give illustrations based on the chapter. • Handwriting should be neat and tidy.

Activity-1 Biodegradable and Non-biodegradable Materials

Find out biodegradable and non-biodegradable material used in day to day life. Procedure: 1. Find out different types of waste materials. 2. Find out their physical and chemical properties (Reaction towards water and combustion reaction) Extended to two days for 20 Minutes each day 3. Find out which type of harmful gases come out after burning of waste materials. 4. Categorise them into biodegradable and non-biodegradable on the basis of their properties. 5. Think about how you can reduce, reuse, recycle and recover (4R's principle) on biodegradable materials and write about Activity 2- Prepare a model out of E-waste materials.

E-waste or electronic waste is created when an electronic products as computers, office electronic equipment, entertainment device electronics, mobile phones, television sets, refrigerators etc. are discarded after the end of its useful life. Electronic scrap components, such as CPUs, contain potentially harmful components such as lead, cadmium, beryllium, or brominated flame retardants. Recycling and disposal of e-waste may involve significant risk to health of workers .E-waste is a serious issue in this age of technology. This waste is generally non-biodegradable and often harmful to the environment. E-waste is best handled by recycling and reusing parts which are functional. “It is time to take a step against this menace, let us demonstrate our support towards this cause by joining hands and prepare a working model made out of e-waste”.

SOCIAL SCIENCE

Students are expected to make a Travelogue on Manipur emphasising the following parameters.

• Location of Manipur along with its capital on the political map of India • Famous tourist attractions • Languages spoken • Local cuisines • Handicraft

Material required-

• A4 Size coloured pastel sheets • Glue Stick, Ribbon, Colour Pens • Coloured pictures

Note : Travelogue reflecting the innovation and originality will be appreciated. Please refer to the sample for better outcome.

COMPUTER APPLICATION

Create a well-formatted document in Microsoft Word, explaining about:

1. Skype- definitions and features 2. Blogs- definition, method of creating , viewing and editing blogs

Submit the hardcopy of the document in a neatly labelled folder/file.
