CLASS VI

English

1. Read the novel ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ part – II {ch-1 to 6} and write summary of each chapter in not

more than 100 words in Literature Notebook and prepare for the FA-4 activity based on the novel.

2. Make two posters in your Grammar notebooks on the topics given below:

a) ‘Fire Safety’, issued by the Fire Department, Delhi.

b) ‘Health is Wealth’ issued by the Lions Club, Delhi

3. Revise the syllabus for the Mock test.

Read the newspaper every day and pick out the main headlines

1.Find the perimeter of a rectangle whose length and breadth are 10m and 8m respectively.

2.Ajay thinks of a number, adds 4 to it and the result is 10. Express this situation in an algebraic

expression.

3.Find the area of a square whose perimeter is 40cm.

4.The perimeter of a rectangle and square are equal. If length of rectangle is 8m and breadth is 6m.

Find the area of the square.

5. Form an expression for the given statements:

(a) The difference of a number with 3 is 10.

(b) Five times a number is 25.

(c) A number divided by 15 gives 3.

(d) 3 added to two times of a number gives 13.

(e) The sum of twice a n umber and seventeen.

6.Nisha scored one-half of the total marks scored by Sita and Geeta in Maths. If Sita and Geeta scored

x and 3y marks respectively, Express the marks scored by Nisha in terms of Sita’s and Geeta’s marks.

7.The length of a rectangle is three times its breadth. If the width of the rectangle is 5m. Find its

perimeter and area.

8. What will happen to the area of a rectangle if its length and breadth are doubled?

12. (a) Laddoos are to be transferred from a larger box to smaller boxes. When a large box is emptied ,

(b) Form an expression using p, 3 and 7. Every expression must have p in it. Use only two number
