    It is impossible not to be astonished byIndia. Nowhere on Earth does humanitypresent itself in such a dizzying, creativeburst of cultures and religions, races andtongues.

    Perhaps the only thing more difficult than

    to be indifferent to India would be todescribe or understand Indian CULTUREcompletely.

    In the 1970s Hofstede developed fourdimensions of culture based on an extensivesurvey conducted among IBM managers inover 50 countries for work values.

    Hofstedes Dimensions try to explain thenational culture from five different angles.

    In International Business it is imperative tostudy nations culture while doing business

    with them. Hofstedesdimensions give us the edge of

    understanding for different cultures across theworld.

    Hofstede Dimension was given for Indiabut they are different for each region asIndia is a multicultural nation.
