    From the Tossed Pumpkins - Black (E), cut:• (1) 4 ⅞” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (6) 4 ⅞” squares.

    From the Tossed Stars - Black (F), cut:• (1) 5 ¼” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (1) 5 ¼” square and (4) 4 ⅞” squares. Cut the 5 ¼” square across both diagonals to make (4) triangles. Note: Only (2) triangles will be used.

    From the Flying Bats - Purple (H), cut:• (2) 2” x 44 ½” Length of Fabric (LOF) strips.• (2) 2” x 35 ½” WOF strips from the remaining fabric. • (1) 5 ¼” square. Cut the square across both diagonals to make (4) triangles. Note: Only (2) triangles will be used.

    From the Allover Haunted Night - Purple (Backing), cut:• (2) 55” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 43” x 55” back.

    Block Assembly1. Sew (1) 2” x 33 ¼” Fabric C strip to each side of the 22 ¼” x 33 ¼” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 25 ¼” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 24 ½” x 36 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 1).

    Note: The arrows in Figure 4 and Figures 9-16 denote fabric print direction. Pay attention to the orientation of the fabric.

    2. Place (1) 4 ⅞” Fabric D square on top of (1) 4 ⅞” Fabric G square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 2). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 2). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 3) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 4 ½” square to make (2) Unit 1 squares (Fig. 4). Repeat to make (4) Unit 1 squares total.

    3. Repeat Step 2 and refer to Figures 5-6 for fabric identification, placement and seam direction to make (12) 4 ½” Unit 2 squares and (8) 4 ½” Unit 3 squares.

    4. Place (1) 4 ⅞” Fabric D square on top of (1) 4 ⅞” Fabric G square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 7). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 7). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 8) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 4 ½” square to make (2) Unit 4 squares (Fig. 9). Repeat to make (4) Unit 4 squares total.

    5. Sew (1) Fabric H triangle, (2) Fabric D triangles and (1) Fabric F triangle together to make (1) Unit 5 square (Fig. 10). Trim unit to measure 4 ½” square.

    7. Sew together (1) 4 ½” Fabric D square, (1) Unit 2 square, (1) Unit 3 square, (1) Unit 4 square, (1) Unit 1 square, (1) Unit 3 square, (1) Unit 2 square and (1) 4 ½” Fabric D square, in that order, to make the Top Border (Fig. 12). Pay attention to the unit orientations.

    8. Sew together (1) 4 ½” Fabric D square, (1) Unit 2 square, (1) Unit 3 square, (1) Unit 1 square, (1) Unit 4 square, (1) Unit 3 square, (1) Unit 2 square and (1) 4 ½” Fabric D square, in that order, to make the Bottom Border (Fig. 13). Pay attention to the unit orientations.

    9. Sew together (1) Unit 2 square, (1) Unit 3 square, (1) Unit 2 square, (1) Unit 4 square, (1) Unit 5 square, (1) Unit 1 square, (1) Unit 2 square, (1) Unit 3 square and (1) Unit 2 square, in that order, to make the Left Side Border (Fig. 14). Pay attention to the unit orientations.

    10. Sew together (1) Unit 2 square, (1) Unit 3 square, (1) Unit 2 square, (1) Unit 1 square, (1) Unit 6 square, (1) Unit 4 square, (1) Unit 2 square, (1) Unit 3 square and (1) Unit 2 square, in that order, to make the Right Side Border (Fig. 15). Pay attention to the unit orientations.

    6. Sew (1) Fabric F triangle, (2) Fabric D triangles and (1) Fabric H triangle together to make (1) Unit 6 square (Fig. 11). Trim unit to measure 4 ½” square.

    Wall Hanging Top Assembly (Follow Figure 16 while assembling the top.)11. Sew the Left Side Border and the Right Side Border to the left and to the right side of the Center Block. Sew the Top Border and the Bottom Border to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

    12. Sew (1) 2” x 44 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2” x 35 ½” Fabric H strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the Wall Hanging top.

    13. Layer and quilt as desired.

    14. Sew the (5) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric B strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

    15. Bind as desired.

    Place Mat Block Assembly1. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x WOF Fabric E strip, (1) 1 ¾” x WOF Fabric D strip, (1) 1 ¾” x WOF Fabric C strip and (1) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric B strip together lengthwise and in that order to make (1) Unit 7 strip set (Fig. 17). Repeat to make (3) Unit 7 strip sets total.

    2. Using the template provide, Make sure to pay attention to the strip set direction and cut out (12) Unit 8 pieces from (3) Unit 7 strip sets (Fig. 18).

    3. Repeat Steps 1-2 and refer to Figures 19-20 for fabric identification and location to make (12) Unit 10 pieces.

    8. Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to complete (1) Place Mat top.

    9. Repeat Steps 7-8 to make (4) Place Mat tops total.

    10. Layer and quilt as desired.

    11. Sew the (8) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric B strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Divide the strip into (4) even lengths.

    12. Bind as desired.

    4. Sew (3) Unit 8 pieces and (3) Unit 10 pieces together, alternating them, to make (1) Unit 11 block (Fig. 21). Repeat to make (4) Unit 11 blocks total.

    5. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, trace (4) Center templates onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about 1/8” outside the drawn lines.

    6. Position each center template over one motif on Fabric A on the wrong side of the fabric and press in place. Cut out each template on the drawn lines.

    7. Refer to Figure 22 to arrange and press (1) Fabric A Center hexi onto (1) Unit 11 block.
