The Bahrain Ross VI, being secured aboard theMISSISSIPPI LLOYD of the Nediloyd Lines, is one of 23 steel-hulled boatsbeing shipped to the Ross Company, a British firm operating out of Bahrain,by the Rush-Bryan Shipyards of Freeport. Shrimping and fishing vessels fromother yards and for other owners are also being shipped through Houstonon a regular basis to the Middle East.

Gehner Joins StaffOf Consulate Here
The new Chancellor of the GermanConsnlate, Heinz G. A. Gehner, descriheshimself as being the "jack-of-all-trades"in the German Consular Service. Where-as most of the people in the service arespecialists, (;elmer, a Chancellor FirstClass, has to he ready to step into theduties of any temporary vacancy lhatmay come up, as well as doing his ownx~,ork.
Although Gehner comes to Houslonfrom duty in Aleppo, Syria, he is no
stranger to the United States, havingserved in the Consular offices in SanFrancisco and in Seattle.
He was born in Berlin in 1912, andattended school there, taking a specialcourse directed to government service.From 1933 to 1937, with the exceptionof a year’s service in Ihe Navy, (;elmerworked in city administration in Berlin.In 19:{7. he .ioined the Foreign Serviceand was assigned to Krakow, Poland,in 1938, and then to Kassa, Hungary,in 1939. While in Hungary, Gehner metand married his wife, Olli, a native ofBudapest.

When the German Foreign Servicewas re-instated in 1951, Gehner was sentto San Francisco to open the ConsularOffice there. He was moved to Seattlein 1952 Io open an office there.
His next assignment was in the For-eign Office in Bonn in the Cultural De-partment. He was there from 1955 to1958, when he was sent to SouthwestAfrica. While in Africa he made a12,000 mile. six-week tour of the conti-nent. In 1960, he was moved to Austriaand then in 1961, to Aleppo.
The Gehner’s have two sons, Claus,23, who is studying aeronautics in Se-attle, and Heinz, 25, now working inPortland, Ore., with the Hihon Hotelsnlanagement service.

The ESSO NEW ORLEANS, docked above at Humble Oil & Refining Com-pany’s Baytown refinery, is the first ship in the company’s fleet of 20 Ameri-can-flag tankers to load more than 500,000 barrels of crude oil or petroleumproducts. The record cargo of 501,649 barrels of gasoline, heating oil anddiesel fuel was pumped into the 66,700-ton tanker at the Baytown refinerydocks at a rate of about 27,300 barrels per hour. The former record at Bay-town was 497,694 barrels loaded in April of this year by the ESSO HOUS-TON, sister ship of the NEW ORLEANS. Since they went into service in late1964 and early 1965, the two tankers have been carrying refined productSfrom the Baytown and Baton Rouge refineries to Humble’s major East Coastterminals.
