Introduction of HKBN VPN

HKBN VPN is a simple, yet powerful online privacy and security app for your desktop and

mobile devices.

Main Features:

• Connection Protection：creates a secure, encrypted connection from your device to

the location that you have selected. It protects your connection in a Wi-Fi network by

making your data unreadable for outsiders. It even prevents anyone from changing

your data or hijacking your network traffic.

• Virtual Locations: choose where you want your IP address to be shown from about 28

available virtual locations.

• Browsing Protection: makes sure that while you browse the web, the sites you go to

are safe.

• Tracking Protection： scans for malware, tracking cookies and other online threats.

You're protected from harmful sites, trackers and apps that want to forward your data

without you knowing about it.

• Tracker Mapper: allows you to temporarily log visited web sites to see how they are

tracking you, as well as malicious sites blocked.

• App Security: makes sure your device is clean from harmful apps that try to steal

personal information, harm your content, or use your device for illegal purposes.

My HKBN PROTECT (Management Portal)

HKBN VPN provides an online management platform service, you can use it to remotely

manage your subscription. After account creation, you can manage services, check

subscription status, and add family members to your My HKBN PROTECT circle. You can use

My HKBN PROTECT to share or transfer HKBN VPN from one device to another at any time.

Download and Install Application

You can download and install HKBN VPN through the My HKBN PROTECT online service. You

can also use My HKBN PROTECT to send the product to a device by email, making it easy for

you to deliver HKBN VPN to a device that you want to protect.

Add new device from My HKBN PROTECT 1. Login to My HKBN PROTECT; Select “HKBN VPN”from top menu; Tap

“Install HKBN VPN”;

Remark: If all your available HKBN VPN licenses have been used, you can purchase extra

licenses.

2. Choose whose device do you want to add: Select “My Device” (If install

to your own devices) and then click “Continue”;

3. You can select to install the application to the device you are using；

4. If you would like to install to another, choose the correct device type;

a. Enter the email address and send a HKBN ID PROTECTION installation

link to your device via email;

b. Or you can send the installation link by SMS ；

Remark: Installation link send by SMS is only applicable to mobile and tablet device.

Turn On HKBN VPN Protection

When you use HKBN VPN, it establishes a VPN connection between your device and F-Secure's

servers. This means that, instead of using a direct connection between your device and the

internet, all data traffic is routed through those servers. Your data traffic is encrypted. HKBN

VPN uses strong encryption for all communications between your device and the F-Secure

servers. This means that identity thieves and other hackers cannot steal your personal

information by intercepting your data traffic, even when you use an open Wi-Fi connection.

Your network communication goes through the IP address of the F-Secure server that you are

connected to. In this way, for example the web site you browse can only see the IP address

of the F-Secure server and not the IP address of your own device.

The websites or files you visited on the Internet will be automatically scanned on the HKBN

VPN server and then transferred to the device to verify whether all the data you visited is

harmful to your device or privacy. HKBN VPN will not record or store your data in any way,

nor will it associate any relevant information with you.

Changing Your Virtual Location

Using a virtual location protects your privacy and lets you access your favourite streaming

services when abroad.

By default, HKBN VPN uses the server that is closest to you for the best possible connection.

Companies use IP geolocation to block users in certain countries from accessing their content.

With HKBN VPN, you may be able to go around some of them by changing your virtual location

in the following way:

1. Open HKBN VPN App；

2. Tap “Location” (image 1);

Blocking Harmful Web Sites

While you browse the web, HKBN VPN checks the sites that you go to and makes sure that

they are safe. Browsing protection blocks web sites that may contain harmful content or steal

your personal information, including credit card numbers, user account information, and

passwords.

You will see a notification whenever HKBN VPN blocks a site. On the main view of the app,

you can check HKBN VPN's browsing protection statistics to see how many harmful sites the

app has blocked.

What to do when a site is blocked?

If browsing protection blocks a site, most likely the site or service that you are trying to access

is either malicious or is trying to track you. Some sites prevent their use altogether if they are

not able to set up the tracking first.

If you cannot access a site or service that works when HKBN VPN is turned off, you can try to

turn tracking protection off when you are accessing that site.

Important: If you turn tracking protection off, at the same time you allow that site and its

affiliates to track your online behavior.

You may also try to turn browsing protection off if you trust that the site in question is safe.

Important: Turning browsing protection off considerably weakens the security of your web

browsing.

Preventing web sites from tracking you

Tracking protection ensures privacy while you browse the web and use apps. When you go to

a web site or use an app that tries to track you, HKBN VPN hides your IP address, blocks

tracking cookies and prevents apps from sending information about you to data collection

sites.

Tracking protection removes all cookies set by known advertising networks, preventing the

ad networks from tracking individual visitors from site to site. It also prevents all HTTP traffic

from and to what F-Secure's reputation analysis identifies as a tracking domain, and forces

the "Do Not Track" header on for all browsing.

Some of your browsing happens over encrypted communications (HTTPS/TLS/SSL), and in

those cases HKBN VPN cannot decrypt the communications and remove the tracking cookies.

Using Tracker Mapper

HKBN VPN never logs your data. However, you can choose to do so yourself by using Tracker

Mapper to record your tracking data for up to 24 hours.

Any existing log you make will be deleted permanently once you start a new one or three days

after you stop recording.
