    Position Title: HIV/AIDS Capacity Building Officer

    Main Functions: Provide key support to Tiyatien Healths HIV/AIDSprojects

    Desired Outcomes: By offering on-the-ground support, the HIV/AIDSCapacity Building Officer will ensure that THs HIV/AIDS programsoperate at the highest possible levels of quality and efficiency. Thisperson will be the primary in-country member of TH USAs HIV/AIDSteam, linking the HIV teams in the US and Liberia. The HIV/AIDSCapacity Building Officer will offer support to the TH Liberia team tomaximize the impact of the HIV Equity Initiative, allow smooth

    implementation of Global Fund related activities, and coordinateactivities with partner organizations.

    Reports to:

    Directly supervised by Tiyatien Healths Clinical Director (Dr. Yesero Kalisa)

    Will work closely with Tiyatien Health Liberias Global Fund Grant/Innovative

    Adherence Project Manager Benjamin Grant and (via email/phone) Tiyatien

    Health USAs HIV/AIDS team

    Duties: Provide clinical trainings for Liberian staff on HIV/AIDS and

    related topics Support trainings on HIV/AIDS and related topics for community health workers

    and TBAs/TTMs

    Support quality improvement activities for HIV Equity Initiativeand the clinic at Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital

    Support implementation of Global Fund related activities,particularly the Innovative Methods for Adherence (nationwide accompanier)project

    Support the creation of quarterly reports to be presented to TH administration,Pool Fund, and Global Fund

    Work with M and E team to refine forms used in HIV/AIDS activities and to

    ensure accurate data collection and entry

    Participate in TH HIV/AIDS research activities including proposal creation,establishment of collaborative partnerships, data analysis, writing, and editing.

    Participate in weekly US-Liberia HIV Team meetings to report updates,

    challenges, and achievements

    Support strategic planning to improve Tiyatien Healths HIV/AIDSservices

    Help fulfill THs partnership with National AIDS Control Programby interfacing with NACP leadership and providing technicalsupport for activities such as guideline review and protocoldevelopment

    Help coordinate activities with other partners including NGOs,

    County Health Team, and other governmental bodies

    Working Conditions:

    Posting in austere conditions in Zwedru, Liberia. Significant travelaround Liberia with extended stays in Monrovia required.

    One-year commitment.

    Requirements:

    MD, PA, or advanced nursing degree obtained or expected.Experience with global health and HIV/AIDS care stronglypreferred.
