Routine HIV Testing
Two non-mandatory questions have been added to the Intake and Triage to facilitate testing and
follow-up.
Units not participating in Routine HIV Testing are not required to complete the screening
questions.

routine HIV testing include: Acute Medicine Units (10East, 11East, 13East/West)
Medical IMC (10West)
CPCUs (Gudelsky 3E, 3D South)
Inpatient Psychiatry Units (11West, 12East, 12West)
Adult ED
Ortho T6N
Emergency Surgery Services on W5, SIMC and SPCU
Vascular Surgery Services on W5, SIMC and SPCU
Intake & Triage Changes
If your area does not perform routine HIV testing,
skip over these questions.
Intake & Triage Changes
If the first question is answered, the second question will become
available.
If a patient reports that they are HIV positive, a 5 question Previous
Positive assessment will become available to determine if the patient is
receiving outpatient HIV care.
The nurse should call Travis Brown, Program Manager JACQUES
Initiative (410-340-9226- 24/7) for previous and newly positive patients.
