Hitler and the Rise of Nazi Germany

Chancellor and Nuremberg Laws
• Chancellor is a prime minister and in 1933 Hitler was appointed to be one
• Nuremberg Laws deprived Jews of German citizenship and placed severe restrictions on them.
Political Struggle
Germany like France had many small parties. They were too liberal and weak. They mostly blamed Jews for economic and political problems.
Recovery
• In 1924, the U.S. gained British and French approval to reduce German reparations.
• American loans helped the German economy recover and began to prosper.
• Great Depression hit and German turned to Adolf Hitler, who promised to solve the economic crisis and restore Germany's former greatness.
Nazi's come to Power!
The time Hitler reigned was called the THIRD REICH. Held power from 1933 - 1945. It was suppose to last 1,000 years. The rise to Nazi was carried by Adolf Hitler. Many Jewish people were killed during this time. The Jewish population was in danger when the Nazi's took over in 1933.

communists, and disband other political partie
Kristallnacht
This is also known as "night of broken glass". This name came from all the broken glass during destruction. This happened on November 9, 1938. It was very violent against Jews and everything that they owned. There were 91 Jewish dead, hundreds injured, 7,500 businesses and 177 synagogues destroyed.
Nazi Youth
Nazi's taught children [youth]of their ideas so that they can adopt the same ideas.
Purging
• Nazis sought to purge, or purify, German culture• Denounced modern art, saying that it was corrupted by
Jewish influences• Condemned jazz cause of its African roots• Nazis glorified old German myths• To control the churches, Nazis combined all Protestant into
one single state church• Close Catholic schools and muzzled the Catholic clergy
