Solution ArchitectureThe UCP CI architecture consists of modular building blocks (see Table 1). Its components scale independently and provide organizations with greater configurability, flexibility and agility. Systems can be configured with a wide range of server options from the Hitachi Advanced Server family. These options range from DS120 rackmount systems optimized for scale-out cloud-native architectures, DS225 servers for virtual desktop and artificial Intelligence (AI) to the enterprise-class Hitachi Advanced Server DS7000 series systems, which provide high performance for business-critical applications and high capacity for in-memory databases, such as SAP HANA.

UCP CI supports the complete family of Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform arrays, includ-ing the all-flash VSP F series and hybrid-flash VSP G series. It provides industry-leading features and performance and supports Hitachi value-added software, which offers a wide range of data services, including disaster recovery and bottomless backup for applica-tions and virtual machines. Cisco Ethernet and Brocade Fibre Channel switches with optional NSX support provide network infrastructure. Available tools include Hitachi Infrastructure Analytics Advisor (HIAA), which manages and monitors the IT infrastructure to ensure that services maintain compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
