History of Profile Club

The initial play on Profile House Hotel’s newly constructed nine-hole golf course was on August 15, 1897. According to The 1902

Official Golf Guide, the Profile Golf Club was

organized July 4, 1897, making it the second oldest private golf club in New Hampshire. The first Profile Golf clubhouse was con-structed that same summer. The Profile House Hotel hired Arthur Fenn to lay out the nine-hole course on what was former farm-land. After enjoying a couple of years of golf on the Profile course, players decided to or-ganize a formal club, so the Profile Golf Club was organized in July of 1899, later renamed Profile Club. Throughout the years, there were good times and hard times with the De-pression and World War II. The original clubhouse fell victim to fire in 1964 and was rebuilt by member contributions. With mem-bership increasing and the need for more space and upgraded facilities, the decision was made that it would be more cost effective to build a new facility rather than add on to the old building. The old clubhouse was de-molished in November of 2013 and the new clubhouse was completed by May, 2014. The year 2019 marks the 122nd anniversary of the Profile Golf course and the 120th anniversary of the Profile Golf Club and the construction of the first clubhouse. Over the years the Club has played an important part in the lives of many families and several generations have left their mark on the Club’s history. Loyalty and a sense of family among the members have built enduring friendships and

have added to the rich heritage of the Profile Club. We welcome you to join us and our community.

The Profile Club offers individual and family memberships. We also offer a Guest Card pass for the season for you to become acquainted with The Profile Club, its members, facilities, activities and events, prior to deciding whether to apply for a membership.

Profile Club Amenities Golf Program

We have a varied golf program for men, women and juniors. There are tournaments throughout the season, as well as weekly men’s and women’s play days that include instruction from our golf professional.

Tennis Program

There are scheduled clinics and play days for adults and juniors with our tennis profession-al who recently became a member of the Pickleball Professional’s Registry, adding pickleball to the Club’s activities.

Swimming Pool

The Profile Club offers a large in ground swimming pool with men’s and ladies’ changing rooms. Members enjoy water aero-bics taught twice weekly during the season.

Social Events

The Profile Club has an active social calen-dar throughout the season for its members and guests. These events include evening dinners, cocktail parties, bridge and mahjong games, trivia night, Sunday brunch and much more.

Lunch Grille

The Profile Club lunch grille is open six days a week offering a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, salads and daily specials as well as beer, wine and spirits.

Yoga

Yoga classes are offered twice weekly and taught by a certified yoga instructor.
