The history begins as early as 1769, with the
creation of steam-powered automobiles capableof human transport.
In 1806, the first cars powered by internal
combustion engines running on fuel gas.In 1828, Ányos Jedlik, a Hungarian who invented
an early type of electric motor.
In 1838, Scotsman Robert Davidson built anelectric locomotive that attained a speed of 4miles per hour.
