History

For Egyptians, cats were gods. Cat

god was Bastet. In Egypt, when some

house was burning, people had to save cats first and then

they could save their possessions.

LionLion, known as

„king of beasts“ is a very beautiful

animal. It lives in Africa.

Male lion lives for about 10 years

and female about 15. They are social

animals. Lion is also a zodiac sign.

TigerTiger is the biggest

feline in the world and it is stronger than a lion. It lives in Asia.

Tiger is a very endangered animal.

It can swim and climb very well and it can kill as big animal as buffalo. In the world

exists also white variety of tiger, but it

is very rare. Other kinds of tiger are:

Bengal, Siberian and Manchurian tiger…

PumaPuma is smaller than

the other big cats and it is different,

because it does not have striped or

spotted fur. It lives in Canada and also in

South America. It can climb and jump

very well and it is very quick.

Fur of the cubs is very interesting, because it is spotted and not

only ginger.

Persian catsPersian cats Persian cats are

improved breeds from exotic cats. They are mid-sized cats with round head, small ears, round bright

eyes, strong neck and stocky body. These cats have plush and soft fur. Persian cats have calm, enjoyable character and they do not require continual personal attention.

Siamese cats Siamese cats are mid-sized, long, slim, elastic and ellegant. Their eye colour is usually dark saphire blue. Siamese cats have very big ears

and triangle-shaped head. These cats have

got short fur. They are a bit noisy, need a lot of

care and they need to be a member of the family.

British catsThey are very friendly,

playful and nice cats. Their fur is very soft and short. In many countries, British cats are considered to be a symbol of perfection.

White British cats with blue eyes can be deaf. Blue

British cat is probably the most favourite cat of

British shorthair. Ancestors of these cats

are: silver clouded shorthair and unicoloured

shorthair British cat.
