Sikkens history 1792-1900
• Founded in 1792 by Weird Willem Sikkens in Groningen
For more than a century, the company grew, selling primarily to the
building trades
until the nineteenth century, producing special lacquers for
carriages and wagons

The company moved from Groningen to Sassenheim

a fire raged through the Sassenheim factory, destroying both
