gilleleje Badehotel stands atop a 30 m high cliff at Zealand’s most northern point “gilbjerghoved”. When adding the hotel’s three storeys to this height, you will experience an exceptional view over the ocean and the surrounding landscape. From this point of view you can see all the way to kullen in sweden and enjoy the sight of numerous birds flying in formations over Øresund and kattegat.

the white main building with its blue balconies was built in 1908 on the site, where there has been a guest house since 1895. the distinctive atmosphere from the early 1900s has been preserved thanks to the gentle renovations which have been carried out throughout the hotel’s history.

at skovshoved Hotel, history is written on the walls. the building dates back to 1660 where the guests were mainly thirsty travellers passing on the coastal road through the small fishing village. the hotel is exclusive, homely, trendy and romantic maintaining an international yet local vibe.

the hotel restaurant draws inspiration from the classic brasserie style food. light lunch dishes and innovative dinner menus are served in beautiful surroundings in the partially glass-roofed restaurant which almost gives the impression of having nature as a dinner companion. Ballebro Færgekro was established in 1729 near the ferry landing in Ballebro. in 1870, the owners were granted a licence to run Ballebro as an inn. today, the beautifully restored buildings still offer a fantastic view across the fjord to the island of als.

Ballebro Færgekro underwent a careful restoration from 1993 to 1996. old pictures, paintings and local tales were carefully studied in order to restore the building in accordance with the old building traditions to how it could have looked back in the days - but actually never did.

the hotel was designed in 1907 by architect ulrik plesner who was a part of skagen’s famous and infamous artistic community, which in the late 1800’s introduced an unprecedented decadent and liberated life style in town, and to this very day, we make it a point of honour to carry on his spirit.

We have high ceilings here at the hotel, and at the same time we have given attention and dedication to every last detail of the hotel – in the light and cosy rooms, in the restaurant and in plesner’s garden, which is open to hotel guests only.

in 2009 Helenekilde Badehotel was gently restored by owner and former balletdanser alexander kolpin. the original traditions have been kept with the personal touch and life quality in focus. the relaxed atmosphere has been cherished as well; every color each piece of furniture and all pictures have been chosen carefully – all contributing to the cozy and relaxed atmosphere.

the hotel has 28 double rooms – 16 of them with a sea view, from Hesselø (island) in the north to kullen in sweden. all rooms have either terrace or balcony and private bath. the hotel is open all year for conferences, parties and the famous relaxed getaways. conferences are held in one of the 4 conference rooms seating from 4 to 28 persons. parties will seat up to 90 guests.

in the kitchen chef Daniel sasson up-dates the Danish-nordic cuisine to a contemporary flavor expression. the hotel serves a 3-course menu all year round - table reservations are required. During the summer, á la carte dishes are served on the terasse overlooking the sea.
