“ HIS KINGDOM”

BY PASTOR YEMISI BAMGBOSE

MATTHEW 13:18-52

Most of the teachings and preaching of Jesus centres on His Kingdom.

Most of His parables paint a vivid picture about the kingdom and what it represents.

The matter of the kingdom is so important that most teachings that refer to it are either warnings or

admonition and to assure those who have ears to hear what the Spirit says to the church.

We have been warned to take heed to the warnings, Jesus warned us of not losing the kingdom of God

because of the fleeting riches of this world.

The problem with many believers is that, we tend to forget important and crucial matters quickly, those

pictures should remain in our subconscious mind forever.

This kingdom has values and set of rules that govern it. There are principles in the kingdom that if anyone

obeys them, such will enjoy the benefits of it. Isaiah 1:19

This Kingdom is ruled and governed by a Holy God.

The messages of the kingdom are explicit enough to keep many of us on our toes.

Our daily choices will determine if we will enter that Kingdom or not.

We need to ask ourselves: What must I do in other to enter this kingdom?

Who was the kingdom made for?

The Kingdom is the centre of God's government.

From Jesus teachings, we can see that, the kingdom has a king that is just, impartial, loving, kind, forgiving,

powerful and holy etc.

It was the intention of this king that all His subjects or children will know and love Him just as He loves

them.

This king craves a relationship with us.

This king must come first in all that we do.

The Kingdom is sovereign

Don't be fooled by the signs, wonders and miracles happening in this our generation, our responsibility is to

seek God's kingdom and its righteousness and everything we need will be added to us.

Let your focus be on God and His kingdom only.

Don't engage in activities that will disrupt and destroy the kingdom of God.

We are in a crucial time, you will need to be watchful and be vigilant.

Matthew 13:37-43

Jesus explained to the disciples the interpretation of the parable of the sower.

The sower is The Son of man that is Jesus Christ.

The field is the world with it pleasure and attractions

The good seeds are the children of the Kingdom, who does the will of the Father.

The tares are the children of the wicked who does the will of Satan.

The enemy is the devil

The reapers are the angels

The tares are for firewood

The Son of man shall send His angels and they will gather out of His kingdom, all things that offend and the

workers of iniquity.

These people shall be cast into a furnace of fire, there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Then the righteous shall shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

Let him that have ears, let him hear.

If you are to be part of His kingdom, you must walk righteously and not as fools, discerning the time.

Ephesians 5:15-16.

The kingdom of the Father belongs to those who had surrendered their lives to Jesus, living daily to please

Him. Not men pleasers at all. No hypocrite will make it to that kingdom.

No idolaters and those that work in disorderly manner will make it there.

It is for the Redeemed of the Lord only.

Those who had taken hold of eternal glory. Those who refused to soil their garment with what the world offers because of food for the belly.

It's for those who have made covenant with God to love and serve Him forever.

The kingdom is not for the lazy or sluggard, It is not for those who live wickedly and abominable lives. The

Kingdom is for those who are willing to give all their earthly possessions in other to be part of this Kingdom.

It is for those who will labour to enter the rest of God. Hebrews 4:11

It is for those who had put their hands on the plough and are not looking back. Luke 9.62

The kingdom is likened to a merchant man seeking goodly pearls, who when he had found one pearl of great

price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. Matthew 13:45-46

The kingdom is for the elect of the Father. Colossians 3:12

Those who refused to bow down their knees to idols or the god of this world, power and fame.

Will you like to be part of this Kingdom?

You must know the King of this kingdom and the King must know you.

You must love Him above all others. Jude 1:21

You must be willing to surrender to His principles.

You must be obedient to His rule of law.

You must strive to be like Him You must be ready to pay a huge sacrifice for Him.

This King must be honoured in all you do.

He must be obeyed all times.

The kingdom is worth much more than the wealth of this world altogether.

All those who will miss this kingdom are doomed for eternity.

Every member of this kingdom has power to transform lives and destinies. Daniel 3:25-30

They can overturn evil rules.

They are the mobile tabernacle of our God, the King's dwell with them and in them.

They are humble, loyal, faithful, forgiving, compassionate etc.

They are the light and salt of this world.

How can you seek His kingdom?

a) Be born again. John 3:3

The Kingdom is for the Redeemed of the Lord. Nothing unclean can enter into that Kingdom.

You must surrender your life and everything to the King. You must renounce your formal ways of living to a

new way and new lifestyle.

b) Be a worshipper. John 4:21

John 4 Worshippers are always dwelling in the kingdom.

c) Be a soul winner. Matthew 28:19-20

Ensure that through your efforts, men are added to the kingdom.

Seek first the advancement of the kingdom, the enlargement, the growth, the extension of His kingdom with

all genuineness and Kingdom blessings shall be added to you. Soul winning is every believer’s ministry

d) We must engage in kingdom prayer. Luke 18:1

Kingdom advancement prayer is the ministry of every believer. His kingdom can come through prayer.

Prayer for bread and butter will not take you far. God who sees you praying kingdom advancement prayers

will reward you openly, It changes your level without you been concerned. Pray for the backslider to be

restored, pray that sinners shall stop sinning, pray that the Lord will arrest every unbeliever, Pray for church

growth, Pray for unity and peace of the nation where you dwell. Galatians 4:19 You travail to birth children

and travail to see them establish. Praying for the gates to lift up their heads. It's time to change our prayer

content. Praying that they may be perfect in the will of God. Any assumption for growth will lead to

continuous frustration. The prayer for kingdom advancement is the secret of evangelism. Pray to please God in all that you do that His Kingdom come.

His kingdom can come by revelation. Every revelation in the kingdom is for those who seek the kingdom.

e) Seeking first the interest of the kingdom of God. Matthew 6:33

f) Making God business a matter of priority.

g) Total obedience - His kingdom can come by obedience. Isaiah 1:19

You must obey the instructions and rules of the kingdom in other to enjoy the benefits thereof

h) Sacrificial giving is a sign that one belong to that kingdom. Genesis 22:10

Daddy G.O. says, obedience is good, sacrifice is better but obedience with sacrifice is the best.

For example, the commandment of giving is valid for all times and applicable to the Redeemed

throughout his life time. Learn to give to God sacrificially as Kingdom mandate.

Dead Church Story

A new pastor in Topeka, Kansas, USA, spent the first four days making

personal visits to each of his prospective congregation inviting them to

come to his inaugural services.

The following Sunday the church was all but empty. Accordingly, the pastor placed a notice

in the local newspapers, stating that, because the church was dead, it was everyone's duty

to give it a decent Christian burial. The funeral would be held the following Sunday

afternoon.

Morbidly curious, a large crowd turned out for the 'funeral'.

In front of the pulpit they saw a closed coffin which was covered in flowers. After the

priest had delivered the eulogy, he opened the coffin and invited his congregation to come

forward and pay their final respects to their dead church.

Filled with curiosity as to what would represent the corpse of a 'dead church', all the

people eagerly lined up to look in the coffin. Each 'mourner' peeped into the coffin then

quickly turned away with a guilty, sheepish look.

In the coffin, tilted at the correct angle, was a large mirror.

A Mobile Home

A man living in New Jersey had just bought a new mobile home and learnt that he had to

pick it up from the other side of New York and drive it all the way back. He realised that

to do so he would have to pass right through Manhattan, a very serious driving risk, es-

pecially with a slow mobile home.

So he decided to pop up to Manhattan and ask someone when would be the best time

to travel without getting his new acquisition demolished. The first person he came across

was a local policeman and knew he could do no better.

When asked, the policeman replied that a Sunday would be the best time to travel at

about 7.00a.m.

"Why that time?" the man asked. "Well," replied the policeman, " all the Jews are playing

golf and all the Catholics are at Mass"

"But what about the Protestants?" "Oh, they are all asleep at that time of a Sunday

morning."

Taking the policeman's advice he set out and was travelling through Manhattan at about

7.00 a.m. when WHAM!! his mobile home was smashed from the rear.

He got out, surveyed the damage and then found out it was a Seventh Day

Adventist late for work!

HYMN 1

KING OF GLORY

King of glory, King of peace,

I will love Thee;

And, that love may never cease,

I will move Thee,

Thou hast granted my request,

Thou hast heard me;

Thou didst note my working breast

Thou hast spared me.

Wherefore with my utmost art

I will sing Thee;

And the cream of all my heart

I will bring Thee;

Though my sins against me cried,

Thou didst clear me;

And alone, when they replied,

Thou didst hear me.

Seven whole days, not one in seven,

I will praise Thee;

In my heart, though not in heav’n,

I can raise Thee

Small it is, in this poor sort

To enrol Thee;

E’en eternity’s too short

To extol Thee.

HYMN 2

O LORD MY GOD!

O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder

Consider all the worlds Thy hands hath made

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder

Thy pow’r thro’ out, the universe displayed.

Chorus

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee;

How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee;

How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

When through the woods And Forest glades I

wander,

And hear the birds Sing sweetly in the trees;

When I look down, from lofty mountain

grandeur

And hear the brook, and feel the gentle

breeze;

And when I think that God, His Son not

sparing

Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;

That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,

He bled and died to take away my sin.

When Christ shall come, with shout of

acclamation,

And take me home, what joy shall fill my

heart!

Then I shall bow, In humble adoration

And there proclaim,

My God, how great Thou art!

HYMN 3

THOU, WHOSE ALMIGHTY

WORD

Thou, whose Almighty word

Chaos and darkness heard,

And took their flight,

Hear us, we humbly pray,

And where the Gospel day

Shed not its glorious ray.

Let there be light!

Thou, who didst come to bring

On Thy redeeming wing

Healing and sight,

Health to the sick in mind,

Sight top the inly blind,

Oh now, to all mankind

Let there be light!

Spirit of Truth and love,

Life-giving, Holy Dove,

Speed forth Thy flight:

Move on the water’s face,

Spreading the beams of grace,

And in earth’s darkness place

Let there be light!

Blessed and Holy Three,

Glorious Trinity,

Wisdom, love, might;

Boundless as ocean’s tide

Rolling in fullest pride,

Through the earth far and wide,

Let there be light.

HYMN 4

I AM SO GLAD

I am so glad that our Father in heaven

Tells of His love in the book He has given;

Wonderful things in the Bible I see;

This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.

CHORUS

I am so glad that Jesus loves me,

Jesus loves me, Jesus love me,

I am so glad that Jesus loves me

Jesus loves even me.

Jesus loves me and I know I love Him;

Love brought Him down my lost soul to

redeem;

Yes, it was love made Him die on the tree:

Oh I am certain that Jesus love me.

In this assurance I find sweetest rest,

Trusting in Jesus I know I am blest;

Satan dismayed from my soul doth now flee

When I just tell him that Jesus loves me.

Oh, if there’s only one song I can sing,

When in His beauty I see the great King,

This shall my song in eternity be,

“Oh, what a wonder that Jesus loves me!”
