HiPath CAP V3.0Common Application Platform

High-performance middleware for HiPath and Hicom communication platformsCTI solutions (Computer Telephony Integration) are gaining importance through the convergence of telecommunication and computer technologies. Open, standardized interfaces enable indi-vidual configurations and sector solutions to improve both internal and external com-munication. They increase application inte-gration and data consistency in the entire network.

HiPath CAP is a high-performance middle-ware package for HiPath and Hicom com-munication platforms. It is modular in structure and distributed use is possible in IT networks. The key features are as follows

● CTI support– Powerful standard interfaces and pro-

tocols* in native mode for migrations* in harmonized mode as a key re-quirement to enable an application to be used universally in mixed, hetero-geneous communication networks (multi-domain property)

– XML-Phone-Services interface with support for IP telephones and system devices

● Media support for HiPath communica-tion platforms for the latest releases of HiPath 3000/4000 (in preparation).

● Installation and administration services

New deliveries of HiPath 4000 (V2.0 or higher) automatically include HiPath CAP with entry clients in the configuration or-dered at no extra cost. Phone services are also supplied that have been developed on the basis of XML technology, supporting specific features of the HiPath 4000 com-munications platform. These are grouped together in the Hipath ComScendo suite:

● On a Button Suite– EasySee (the participants in the call/

conference are displayed on the PC screen at the touch of a button on the telephone)

– EasyLookup (the entries in the corpo-rate directory can be displayed on the telephone, selected and used for out-ward dialing without requiring a PC)

– EasyMail (Outlook is started on the workstation PC and the address fields are filled with the addresses of the participants in the call/conference at the touch of a button)

– EasyShare (Netmeeting is started on the workstation PC at the touchof a button and a session is set up with the participants in the call/conference)

Depending on availability, these services are provided with HiPath 4000 V2.0 with-out requiring additional licenses (supple-ment to sales release).

HiPath CAP is a central component of the HiPath product portfolio and is of benefit to both customers and partners.

HiPath CAP

HiPath CAP is a software product and is sup-plied on CD. The CD contains

● a software develpoment kit with– application developer’s guide– test tool– interactive development tool for XML

phone services applications and– sample programs

The scope of services includes

● CTI support with the following interfaces– CSTA ASN.1 (native, single domain)– CSTA ASN.1 (harmonized, single

domain)– CSTA ASN.1, CSTA XML, JTAPI and TAPI

(harmonized, multi-domain)For the following communication serv-ers – HiPath 3000, 4000, 5000 V4.0 and

higher and HiPath 8000, Hicom 300 H and HiPath DX

– Nortel Meridian I– Alcatel A4400– Avaya Definity G3 (in preparation)– Cisco Call Manager (in preparation)

● HiPath CAP StandardAll implemented CTI features are avail-able, but without support for ACD/Call Center functions. Packages: 10, 25 and 100 clients; site licences available on request.

● HiPath CAP AdvancedSame as HiPath CAP Standard, but ACD/Call Center features are supported. Pack-ages: 10, 25 and 100 clients; site licenses available on request.

● HiPath CAP connectivity to remote telecommunications systemsThis license can be used in addition to existing CAP licenses and allows the in-terfaces to be used in harmonized mode in connection with external telecommu-nications systems.The following are available– Nortel Meridian I, SW: X11, Rel. 24

with Meridian Link Service Rel. 4.0– Alcatel A4400 R3.0In preparation– Alcatel Omni PBX Office– Avaya Definity G3 V6 or higher– Cisco Call Manager V3.1Packages: per client

● HiPath CAP Media Service (in preparation)This new few feature allows media appli-cations to access voice via a standard LAN card. This means that there is no need for special cards for implementing S0 or S2M connections on the application server. The interface is harmonized for the communication platforms HiPath 3000/5000 V5.0 and HiPath 4000 V2.0. It is supplied in TAPI 2.1 with Wave and FAX drivers (T.38 support).Packages: per B channel

HiPath CAP is a software product and runs on the following operating systems:

● MS Windows® 2000/2003 Server

● Linux (in preparation)

Hardware requirements

A standard PC with

● at least 500 MB of available memory

● at least 512 MB main memory,

● a suitable backup medium,

● NIC (Ethernet) for switch access,

● NIC (Ethernet) for customer LAN access.

Standard OEM components can be used for remote access.
