    EFC (ExtendedFast Connect)

In HiPath 3000/5000 V7, the CorNet-IP protocol has been extended with

the addition of the EFC (ExtendedFast Connect) protocol variant. EFCis needed for possible future features(such as encryption of signaling andvoice data in LANs and "IP/IP e2epayload via enterprise proxy for In-ternet telephony). All of a systemsIP workpoints (HFA) and all IP work-points (HFA) within a network mustsupport the EFC protocol. The IPworkpoints optiPoint 420 and optiCli-ent 130 may need to be upgraded toEFC-capable software. optiPoint400, optiPoint 600 office (CorNet-IPmode) and optiPocket are not EFC-capable and therefore will no longerbe supported as of HiPath 3000/5000 V7.

Direct Payload tothe Internet tele-phony service pro-

    vider

Direct payload builds on EFC. Callsare routed directly to the Internet te-lephony service provider via custom-

er LAN and the router. Therefore noB channels on the HG 1500 moduleare used from an IP telephone toInternet telephony service provider.Previously, every IP telephone occu-pied two B channels on the HG1500. This limitation no longer ex-ists. Each TDM telephone still occu-pies a B channel.

T.38 via SIP Fax communication via SIP The protocol T.38 enables secure fax

signals to be sent to the Internet te-lephony service provider. This func-tion can enabled using WBM; it is ac-tivated in the default setting.

    phony service pro-vider lines

Enables the integration of Internettelephony service provider lines into

application connected to the HiPathsystem via the CSTA interface. Therefore there are no longer anyCSTA differences between TDM andInternet telephony service providerlines.

    Mobility Entry (notfor USA)

This feature allows mobile stationsto be integrated into theHiPath 3000 system. Mobile stati-ons are GSM telephones and tele-

commuter workplaces. The stationhas access to system features.

This feature is implemented throughDISA. A mobile station is assigned toa virtual station in the system. In theHiPath 3000 system, all features are

thus mapped to the virtual stations.

    Lightning protec-tion strip(part numberC39334-Z7052-C31)

Additional lightning protection forHiPath 3000 (for Brazil only)

Lightning protection up to about4 kV.The power supply cable of theHiPath 3000 must be plugged intothe lightning protection strip. Thelightning protection strip should beconnected to the line voltage.

    >As of HiPath 3000/HiPath 5000 V7, the node station number is entered as follows::Settings | System parameters | Flags. The path "Settings | Lines/networking | Rou-tes | PABX Number Incoming: PABX number" is no longer possible. When updating to V7, note that after the customer database conversion, the nodenumber is entered under Settings | System Parameters | Flags. Otherwise IP net-worked subsystems can no longer call the CO.

    4.1.8 Licensing the Features

Some features must be licensed before you can use them. For example, these include the useof more than two B channels, the use of HiPath ComScendo services (additional IP clients such

as optiClient 130 or optiPoint 420), etc.

In this case you must install License Management, including a license agent (CLA), on a PC inthe network. The License Management software is available either on the software CD for Hi-Path 3000/5000 V7 or on a separate CD. After installation you can use License Managementto request a license file with the aid of the authorization code or MAC address of the HiPath3000 Control Board (CB). Details can be found in the License Management Online Help. Assoon as licensing is finished, you receive a license file, which is installed automatically in a sub-directory of the CLA (Customer License Agent). The licensing procedure must be repeated foreach HiPath 3000 system in the network. These files contain all of the data required for the sub-sequent distribution of the licenses for the features. This distribution of licenses is performed

    using HiPath 3000 Manager.

In case of the HiPath 5000 V7 IP system (networked system):Because there is a HiPath 5000 Server in the network, you only receive a license file for theHiPath 5000 Server, which contains all licenses for the HiPath 3000 systems belonging to thenetwork.

    >If the CLA and HiPath 3000 Manager are not on the same PC, the IP address of thePC on which the CLA is installed can be entered in a configuration file in theHiPath 3000 Manager directory. The configuration file (ass_150e.ini - Cla_Host) can be found in the directory

    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Siemens\ Manager E.
