You Decide About Your

Religion

My dear fellow Hindu citizens!

Are you a Hindu? If so, then have you ever really read the Vedas, the

Puranas and other religious books? You will most probably answer “No!”

to this question. The Hindu mentality is usually such that it accepts

anything without questioning its authenticity. The reason is that for

several centuries, the higher caste Brahmin has taught that the lower

caste Hindu has no right to question Hindu beliefs and mythology.

2

Raj Bahadur Panday writes that according to Hindu beliefs:

• The Veda is the oldest scripture in the world and is the word of

God

• The literal meaning of the word Veda is knowledge and refers to

the light that illuminates both from the heart and the mind

• The straight path (Siraatul Mustaqeem) that God initially showed

man to follow could have been called the Veda.

• Muslims have firm faith in the Qur'aan, which is the last

revealed divine scripture from God

• A fact that is most pertinent is that every nation believes that

God has sent guides to mankind at various stages in history to

guide man to the straight path

In the light of the above, it emerges that all people ought to have the

same beliefs because these have all been derived from the divine

scriptures.

We will now review an extremely important point, which is the phrase

in the Vedas that the Hindus refer to as the Mantra. This attests to the

Oneness of God and states, “God is one. There is no other. No other.

No other. No other at all.”

Now the Kalimah of the Muslims is: “Laa Ilaaha Illallaah” i.e. There is

none worthy of worship but Allaah.”

The fact that the two ‘Kalimahs’ are alike is in itself a proof of Allaah’s

Oneness. Take note of the following likenesses between the Qur'aan

and the Vedas:

Qur'aan Vedas

All praise belongs to Allaah, the Rabb of the universe

(Surah Faatiha, verse 1)

Praises be to the Creator of the

world

(Rig Vedas 81/5)

The Most Kind, the Most Merciful (Surah Faatiha, verse 2)

The Giver and Most Merciful

(Rig Vedas 1/34/3)

Show us the straight path (Surah Faatiha, verse 5)

Place us on the straight way for

our own good

(Yajur Vedas 41/40) Do you not know that the kingdom of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allaah? He is the Master of the vast earth

Qur'aan Vedas (He cannot be seen in this world) and He has knowledge of everything (in the past, present

and future). (Surah Hadeed, verse 3)

The Qur'aan proves that scriptures have been revealed before the

Qur'aan itself, when it says:

They (the Kuffaar) say, “Why does he (Rasulullaah ρ) not bring us an Aayah (a miracle that we wish to see) from his Rabb (to prove that he is Allaah’s Rasool) ?” Has the proof (of what is)

contained in the previous scriptures not reached them? (Has Rasulullaah ρ and the Qur'aan not come to them, as was mentioned in the divine scriptures of the past Ambiyaa? Whereas the Qur'aan is

ample proof that Rasulullaah ρ is really Allaah’s Rasool, the Kuffaar still asked for other miracles because they did not want to believe him.)1

The Prophet sent to the Hindus

KRISHNA MANIN’S PERPLEXITY

Krishna Manin was sitting with some friends in London when suddenly

one of his friends said, “This friend sitting here is a Jew who claims that

he has God’s revealed scripture with him. He says that it is called the

Torah and that God revealed it to Moses (Hadhrat Moosa υ).” “I know

that,” Krishna Manin replied.

Pointing to a Christian man, the friend then said, “This friend sitting

here is a Christian who claims that he has God’s revealed scripture with

him. He says that it is called the Bible and that God revealed it to Jesus

(Hadhrat Isa υ).” “I know that as well,” replied Krishna Manin.

The friend then pointed to a third man and said, “This friend sitting

here is a Muslim who claims that he has God’s revealed scripture with

him. He says that it is called the Qur'aan and that God revealed it to

Hadhrat Muhammad ρ.” “My dear friend! I know that as well,” replied

Krishna Manin.

The friend then said, “You and I know all of this very well, but who was

the person who brought us the Vedas that you regard as the very first

scripture and as the book that contains the knowledge of God?” Seeing

himself at the centre of everyone’s attention, Krishna Manin thought

deeply and found himself facing a crucial question to which he could

find no reply.

The Vedic code is the oldest of all known religions, which had come to

the world through Hadhrat Nooh υ. Many scholars believe that Hadhrat

Nooh υ was the first to bring the laws of Allaah to this world. It is

however, necessary to verify this from those who adhere to the Vedic

religion before accepting it as truth.

After researching the Hindu religion for forty years, AJA Dubois wrote a

book called Hindu Manners, Customs and Ceremonies, which is still

regarded to be an authentic book on the subject. Concerning the

similarities in the customs of the Hindus and the Muslims, he states in

his book that Allaah had combined the Hindus and Muslims in India

because the Hindus follow the very first religion on earth, which the

Muslims follow the last. He notes the following similarities between the

Hindus and Muslims:

• The Masaajid of the Muslims as well as the Mandirs of the

Hindus face towards the Kabah. He says that regardless of the

date of construction and the size, every Mandir has its door opening

towards the East. In fact, when a Hindu dies, his body is faced in

the same direction that the Muslims face their dead.

• Just as Muslims go around the Kabah seven times when making

Tawaaf, in a like manner the Hindus go around a fire seven times

when celebrating a marriage.

• Muslims performing Hajj and Umrah wear two unsewn garments,

one over the upper body and another over the lower body. This has

been the practice of Hindus for thousands of years when celebrating

certain ceremonies and has become so popular that men still wear

the loincloth and women wear the sari in its semblance.

• It is necessary for Muslims performing Hajj and Umrah to at least

trim their hair, while shaving it off is more meritorious. This has

also been the practice of Hindus when celebrating certain of their

ceremonies.

• Muslim men performing Hajj and Umrah are required to wear a

sandal that does not cover the upper part of the foot. This has been

the practice of Hindus as well when celebrating certain ceremonies.

Page 4: Hindu - You Decide About Your Religion

7

• Muslims name their children and shave their hair when Aqeeqah is

made. It has always been the practice of Hindus also to shave the

child’s hair upon the naming ceremony.

An important point to take note of is that Rasulullaah ρ said, “I can

smell the fragrance of divine knowledge coming from the direction of

India.” Hadhrat Ali τ said, “The purest and most fragrant land is that of

India.” In fact, the Arabs have always entertained a high regard for the

land of India and while much can be written on this subject, it cannot

be done in the interests of brevity.

The Oldest Religion

“We were the first to worship God.” (Rig Veda 1/1/1)

“O the One with perfect knowledge! O the Lord who illuminates

everything, guide us to every path that leads to success. O Giver of

happiness and master of everything! You have knowledge of

everything. Save us from going astray and from all sins. Only You do

we worship and only You do we praise.” (Yajur Vedas 40/16)

“The master of the world is but One.” (Rig Vedas 10/121/3)

“Hearken, O people! Muhammad ρ (Narashansah) will be highly praised

amongst his people.” (Yajur Vedas 20/127/1)

The above are all Mantras from the Vedas. If one ponders over them,

then does it not become evident that Hinduism as we see it today

conflicts with this? The Vedas really are filled with the teachings

propagated in the Qur'aan.

What is the Status of the Vedas in the Opinion of all Hindus?

Thousands of years ago, the Vedas had never been written, but

preserved in the memories of many Hindus. In this way, they

transmitted it from generation to generation. It was Maxmuller who

took great pains to hear them from the many scholars and then wrote

them down because they were very difficult to comprehend when not in

written form. Although there are four Vedas today, all Hindus are

unanimous that the original was one. Some Hindus are of the opinion

8

that the original Vedas had been lost, others say that the original is one

of the four and others state that the original had been divided into four

parts. While the Vedas was a scripture from Allaah, the Girint which the

Hindus refer to as Daamaa’in or Maha Bharat has been written by man.

In Short

A man whom the Hindus have great regard for is someone called

Mahanu. The word Mahanu is made from two words; Maha, meaning

great and Nu, meaning Nooh υ, the Nabi who is mentioned in the

Qur'aan as well. The story is that a tremendous flood enveloped the

world during his time and it was only him and six others who were

saved from the flood when Allaah instructed him to build an ark for

them to board. After the flood, it was the land of India that was first

occupied. This is explicitly mentioned in the Purans, Bhagwat Gita and

quoted in the book Hindu Manners, Customs and Ceremonies.

All of mankind were destroyed in the flood, apart from the seven people

on board the ark, one of whom was Mahanu, whom the Muslims refer

to as Hadhrat Nooh υ. He is mentioned 75 times in the Vedas.

I would now like to highlight an important point at the end. Most people

have a relationship with their forebears and prophets. Just as the

Muslims date their calendar from Rasulullaah ρ’s migration to Madinah

and the Christians date theirs from the ascension of Hadhrat Isa υ, the

Hindus date their important events from the flood of Hadhrat Nooh υ.

Purpose

Keeping all of the above in mind, it can be established that the Vedas is

a scripture from Allaah just as the Torah, Injeel and Zaboor were.

However, like these scriptures, the Vedas was altered by the Hindu

Pundits, who made it such that the Hinus masses never understood

their religion. The purpose of this article is to prompt all Hindus to

rediscover their true religion.
