PRESIDENTS MESSAGE NOVEMBER 2017

Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends,

Jai Shree Ram!

The month of October was very hectic, exciting and fruitful for all of us at the Mandir. We celebrated the auspicious

festivals like Diwali, Karva Chauth, Goverdhan Pooja (Ann Kut) on the one hand, and our own Annual Function The

Fund Raiser Dinner for HOM with great pomp and show. All these Festivals are very close to our hearts, as we have

childhood memories associated with them. We at the Hari Om Mandir, always try to recreate the same festivities &

ambience, to celebrate the Festivals with the same fervor and traditional spirit, as back home in India!!!

My special THANKS to all the members of the community, who joined hands on the 30th Annual Fund Raising Dinner

held on the 7th of Oct, at the Meadows Club. Kudos to the Fund Raising Committee members, with Anil Saxena as the

Chairperson, Chief Sponsor Suga Builders, who put up a grand Entertainment Program & Dinner to make this Event a

memorable one!!! Although the entire Program was organized at a very short notice, I am pleased to share that we

managed to and have a good gathering and raise funds. The Project on hand - to install an ELEVATOR for the

convenience of our Senior Members - is a very BIG one, and needs a lot more assistance, generosity and cooperation from

our community.

On the 8th of Oct, Karva Chauth, the fasting day for all married women was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Pandit

Dinesh Kumar did a wonderful job of reciting the Katha. Special arrangements had also been made for Tea, Juice, Milk,

Snacks etc for those who would like to open their fast after the Pooja. My special thanks to Manisha Garg, Bubbly

Wadhwa, Anita Rawal, Madhu Gupta, Aruna Lal, Jayanthi, Indu Wadhwa & Pushpa HardevRaj for taking the lead and

organizing the entire program in a very professional manner.

On Oct 19, Diwali, the Festival Of Lights was celebrated in the Temple with lighting of the Diyas, Laxmi Pooja, Fire

Crackers for the children and distributing Indian Mithai to everybody who visited the Temple. Bhavna Noto & Shailender

Bhatnagar sang beautiful Bhajans in praise of Lord Rama and His Return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. Hundreds of

Devotees joined the Pooja/Aarti and enjoyed the festivities.

Oct. 20 is also the New Years Day for our Gujrati Community and lots of people visit the Temple that Day. Keeping up

with the tradition, HOM opened up the Temple Doors early morning at 5am & made special arrangements for the

Devotees. On Sunday, Oct. 22nd, we also celebrated Ann Kut Chappan Bhog for Lord Krishna! It was a delight to see

the splendid display of Food that was offered with such Devotion in honor of Goverdhan Pooja. We also enjoyed Baba

Balak Nath Jis special Bhajans with Shama Sharma and her group on the 5th Sunday, Oct.29th.

I am now looking forward to Childrens Day Celebrations (Nov 14th), which will be celebrated on Sunday, Nov.12th. We

started this Program last year and had very encouraging results. A Painting Contest will be held for the Children of all

ages, on the theme, MY INDIA, along with a cultural Program. I appeal to ALL of you to come and attend the program

and encourage the children.

As always, please feel free to send your feedback and suggestions for the improvement and growth of your Temple. I,

along with my Team, shall always try to SERVE you better.
