Pavithrotsavam Celebrations July 28th - July 30th, 2017

Pavithrotsavam is a religious ceremony performed annually for purification. As per scriptures that guide the rituals to be performed in the temples, this religious function is performed every year to maintain a very high level of Divine Power for the deities. This religious program is also a “prayaschitta” event to mitigate the effects of any omissions or shortcomings that might have occurred unknowingly during the worship and services performed to the deities during the year.

The three-day religious ceremony consists of Homam, special abhishekam for Lord Venkateshwara Mula Murthi and Utsava Murthies and other purification rites in preparation of the Pavitra’s, which are sacred threads in the form of garlands that have been specially procured for this occasion.

On Sunday July 30th, these sanctified “Pavitra’s” will adorn the deities during the “Pavitra Samarpana” sacred ceremony thereby creating an atmosphere charged with religious fervor and divine power to the deities. At the conclusion of the religious ceremony, sponsors will receive the pavitra’s that were adorned on deities. Devotees have an excellent opportunity to participate in this religious event and receive divine blessings.

Deeksha will be given starting at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 28th, 2017 extending up to 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 29th, 2017 during

Deeksha Dharanam.

Details regarding Deeksha and Deeksha procedure will provided during Deeksha Dharanam. Limited number of Deeksha’s will be
