July 21 - 24, 2016 It is with great pleasure and excitement that we welcome you to the 24th Biennial Session! Our theme is Hindsight, Insight, Foresight. As we enter this session, we are not only faced with challenges, but also with new opportunities for growth and influence in the lives of our churches and communities. Our hope is that we will come away with a perspective that will inspire and engage us to become the servant leaders God has called us to be. In having true Hindsight, it is not enough to acknowledge and honor our past but also offer a sincere recognition of the realities of our past. It should produce a positive change in behaviors as we face present- day challenges. But with this change we must have Insight. The Psalmist said “Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law and keep it with all my heart (119:34)”. Our history has allowed us the opportunity to experience significant changes today. We have witnessed Barack Obama become our first African-American US President; witnessed the Confederate Battle flag come down permanently in South Carolina, and in the wake of tragedies, witness young black leaders emerge to show why “Black Lives Matter." However, our today is also teaching us that we must not sit on what was and is but embrace what is possible. “For truly, I say to you, unl heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law unl all is accomplished (Mahew 5:18).We still have much to do. The Lord desires for us have Foresight...write the vision and act boldly. The Biennial Team is working diligently to prepare workshops and programs designed to make an aconable impact in our churches and communies. It is our prayer that you will take advantage and be fully engaged in all aspects of the 24th Biennial Session. Together, we can leave the 24th Biennial Session fully prepared and equipped to effecvely manage the challenges and embrace the opportunies. Be Blessed. It is with great pleasure and excitement that we welcome you to the 24th Biennial Session! Our theme is Hindsight, Insight, Foresight. As we enter this session, we are not only faced with challenges, but also with new opportunities for growth and influence in the lives of our churches and communities. Ourhope is that we will come away with a perspective that will inspire and engage us to become the servant leaders God has called us to be.

In having true Hindsight, it is not enough to acknowledge and honor our past but also offer a sincererecognition of the realities of our past. It should produce a positive change in behaviors as we face present-day challenges. But with this change we must have Insight. The Psalmist said “Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law and keep it with all my heart (119:34)”.

Our history has allowed us the opportunity to experience significant changes today. We have witnessed Barack Obama become our first African-American US President; witnessed the Confederate Battle flag come downpermanently in South Carolina, and in the wake of tragedies, witness young black leaders emerge to show why“Black Lives Matter." However, our today is also teaching us that we must not sit on what was and is butembrace what is possible.

“For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all

is accomplished (Matthew 5:18).”

We still have much to do. The Lord desires for us have Foresight...write the vision and act boldly.

The Biennial Team is working diligently to prepare workshops and programs designed to make an actionable impact in our churches and communities. It is our prayer that you will take advantage and be fully engaged in all aspects of the 24th Biennial Session. Together, we can leave the 24th Biennial Session fully prepared and equipped to effectively manage the challenges and embrace the opportunities.

Be Blessed.
