Mayor Judy Cook has announced she will be stepping down from her post this year after 20 years on the council and her last two terms (eight years) as mayor. “I felt it was about time for someone else to have the job,” Cook said. The other seat is up for grabs as incumbent Vice Mayor Carlo McGinnis will be seeking his seventh term and 25th year on the Oakwood City Council. Two new candidates have also filed for seats on the Oakwood City Council and will be on the bal- lot Nov. 3. Lifelong residents Anne Shank Hilton and Rob Stephens will also be campaigning for votes on the Nov. 3 ballot. Following is a comprehensive resume of the three candidates: Anne Shank Hilton is an attorney employed at LexisNexis, a Miamisburg, Ohio-based global provider of solutions to profession- als in law firms, corporations, and governments. She is currently in the Risk Management Division after serving in consultative and manage- rial capacities for legal products for more than 20 years. Among her professional and community activities, she has served on the City of Oakwood Budget Review Committee (since 2001); she has been a member of the Oakwood Youth Sports Program where she has been an Assistant Coach (2008); she is a member of the Dayton and Ohio State Bar Associations, a member of the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers’ Project – vol- unteer lawyer, former board member (1999 – 2009), and Treasurer.
