    Jesus is our Passover Lamb.

I Corinthians 5:7, “...Christ has been offered up for us. He is ourPassover Lamb.”

Passover is a day when Jewish people celebrate by rememberingsomething special God did for them a long time ago. The very rstPassover gives us many clues to understand how God laid out a planfor our salvation from sin before the foundations of the earth. This

plan is sometimes called the Scarlet Cord that runs from Genesis toRevelations. The people of God, called the Israelites, had been slavesin Egypt for 430 years when at last God made a way to set them free.God told them to kill a perfect, innocent lamb and then smear itsblood on the doorposts of their homes as a sign that they belongedto God. Our mighty God had already sent nine plagues to the land ofEgypt. He had tried to soften the heart of Pharaoh, and get him tolet the Israelites go free. Over and over, Pharaoh refused to releasethe Israelites. God had one nal plague or warning for Pharaoh. If hedid not let God’s people leave to nd freedom to worship God, then

the rst born child in every home would die on this night.

Each of the homes which were marked with the blood of the lambwould not be touched by death; death would pass over their homes. The lambs the Israelites used to mark their doorposts were calledsacri ce lambs. These little lambs are symbols of Jesus who camehundreds of years later. Just like these lambs, Jesus was perfect. Thesacri ce lamb had no sin, but the sins of the family were passed ontothe lamb just like our sins were passed onto Jesus. The lamb wasinnocent and didn’t deserve to die; Jesus, too, was innocent. The lambshed its blood as payment for the family’s sins; Jesus shed His ownblood and died for our sins. As Christians we are marked in ourhearts with the blood of Jesus, our Passover Lamb, whose death onthe Cross frees us from the power of sin.

The Cross frees me from the power of sin.1 Corinthians 5:7

I will never hunger or thirst because Jesus is the Bread of Life.

    John 6:35

I am set apar t to do the work of my heavenly Father.Exodus 28:41

Father God,Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron andhis family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is

owing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will gowell with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are andhow much I love You. I thank You that by Jesus’ stripes I am healed.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen
