A gii from a golf league to our opera league
On August 29, the golf league known as UTMC, United Technology Microelectronic Corp, gathered to honor a teammate, Ken Hamman. UTMC was started decades ago and has morphed into interested men and women from all types of careers and companies. As part of the Meeker Music family, Ken Hamman belonged to this league which has supported many local arts organizaEons with its annual tournament. For the last 2 years, this golf tournament has contributed the proceeds to Pikes Peak Opera League to benefit our scholarship fund, specifically directed towards Career Advancement Awards, our scholarship granted each April towards 2 professional aspiring young vocalists in collegiate/post graduate programs. This year the contribuEon to PPOL scholarship fund was $600. PPOL member, Elizabeth Leslie and husband Mike, facilitated this contribuEon to us. The photo above commemorates the event this year and included Connie Hamman who came to honor her husband’s memory. Meeker Music has been a longEme supporter of PPOL as well as an annual newsle2er ad sponsor. Ken is remembered by many in the music and arts community through all his work at Meeker Music with providing instruments, music, and lessons. Several music careers have blossomed from his connecEons in this golf league.
