Level 4 Diploma in Project Management
The diploma in project management is 120 credits at QCF level 4
Mandatory units
– Principles of Project Management. (knowledge unit)
– Project Stakeholder Management (competence unit)
– Project Communications (competence unit)
A total of 70 credits from the following competence units (all units are worth 10 credits unless otherwise stated)
Managing project schedules Managing project quality
Managing project scope Managing project resources
Managing project contracts Business case, project structure and progress monitoring
Managing project finances Managing project risks
Provide leadership and direction for Plan ,allocate and monitor own area of responsibility (5 credits) work for own area of
responsibility (5 credits)
Level 4 Diploma in Project Management
Entry requirements
Entry requirements are being set by the individual corporate organisations.
Experience to date is that this includes Maths and English GCSE grades A*-C plus A Levels or equivalent
Length of programme The programme runs for an average of 2
years
Some organisations offering the programme in 18 months (e.g. BAE systems)
Some organisations offering the programme over 2.5 years (e.g. British Airways)
Delivery methods
Most of the units within the Level 4 Diploma in Project Management are competence units, so there is an emphasis of learning in the workplace, supported by classroom based learning
Funding
Funding rates for the Higher Apprenticeship in Project Management (exclusive of functional skills)
– 16-18 £5,338.82 (up to 100% available)
– 19-24 £4,978.96 (up to 50% available)
– 25+ £3,983.17 (up to 50% available)
Please note that only a maximum of 50% of the 19-24 and 25+
funding will be awarded, as it is expected, by Government, that these
will be co-funded by employers
