CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE 4160V EXPOSED CONDUCTOR(S) AT "H" FRAME AND
FEEDER TO TRANS-GH (GENERATOR CONTROL) AFTER NEW FEEDER IS ENERGIZED.
REFER TO DRAWING E701 FOR ADDITIONAL SCOPE.
CONTRACTOR IS TO DISCONNECT AND REMOVE CONDUCTORS BETWEEN EXISTING
GE SWITCHGEAR AND EXISTING TRANSFORMER EXTRANS-GH. IDOC WILL REMOVE
TRANSFORMER, SECONDARY DISCONNECT, 'H' FRAME STRUCTURE AND FENCE.
DISCONNECT FEEDER AT MAIN SWITCHGEAR-CUBICLE-4, TO TRANS-GH
(GENERATOR CONTROL), TRANS-TOWER AND SWGR EXHSW-1A1 AFTER NEW
FEEDER PROVIDED FROM NEW 5kv SWGR HSW-1A.
REMOVE EXISTING 5kv FEEDER EXTRANS-TWR AFTER NEW FEEDER INSTALLED.
DISCONNECT AND REMOVE 5KV FEEDER(S) AFTER NEW FEEDER(S) INSTALL AND
ENERGIZED FOR EXSW-1A1
DISCONNECT AND REMOVE SECONDARY FEEDER FROM TRANS-GH (GENERATOR
CONTROL) TO 240V DISCONNECT AND FEEDER TO 100A GENERATOR CONTROL
PANEL IN GENERATOR ENCLOSURE, AFTER NEW FEEDER IS INSTALLED AND

GENERAL NOTES
1. IDOC WILL ASSIST FOR THE SHUTDOWN AND PROVIDE NECESSARY PERSONAL AND
PROCEDURE AS REQUIRED.
2. THE MAXIMUM DURATION OF SHUTDOWN PER DAY WILL BE 8 HOURS. AT THE END OF
THE DAY CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE THE POWER TO THE FACILITY. IF LONGER
SHUTDOWN IS REQUIRED, THEN SPLIT INTO TWO DAYS.

1. INDIANA STATE PRISON ELECTRICAL SERVICE IS PROVIDED BY NIPSCO VIA A SINGLE
SOURCE 34.5KV OVERHEAD RADIAL POWER LINE THAT TERMINATES ON ISP'S SINGLE
SQUARE BAY LINE DEAD END FUSED SWITCHING STRUCTURE. THERE IS A MAIN
ISOLATION SWITCH THAT ISOLATES THE OUTDOOR SUBSTATION. THE MAIN
ISOLATION SWITCH THEN FEEDS TWO PARALLELED FUSED SWITCHES, WHICH IN
TURN FEED SUBSTATION TYPE TRANSFORMERS. EACH TRANSFORMER IS
CONFIGURED FOR 34.5KV PRIMARY AND 4160/2400V SECONDARY. THE
TRANSFORMERS ARE CONFIGURED AS A DELTA - WYE. THE PRIMARIES OF THE
TRANSFORMERS ARE FUSED INDIVIDUALLY WITH 50E FUSES. THE SECONDARY OF
THE TRANSFORMERS THEN TERMINATE IN THE 5KV METAL CLAD OUTDOOR
SWITCHGEAR ON THE INCOMING OF THE MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKERS.

6 SHOULD SHOW A RED INDICATOR LIGHT, WHICH INDICATES BREAKERS ARE
CLOSED.
B. TIE BREAKER IN CUBICLE 5 SHOULD SHOW A GREEN INDICATOR LIGHT, WHICH
INDICATES BREAKER IS OPEN.
C.GENERATOR BREAKER IN CUBICLE 3 SHOULD SHOW A GREEN INDICATOR LIGHT,
WHICH INDICATES BREAKER IS OPEN.
D.THE AUTO/MANUAL CONTROL SWITCH ON CUBICLE 5 DOOR SHOULD BE IN THE
AUTO POSITION.
E.NONE OF THE MAINS OR TIE BREAKER CAN BE MANUALLY CLOSED UNLESS THE
AUTO/MANUAL SWITCH IS IN THE MANUAL POSITION. BREAKERS CAN BE
MANUALLY TRIPPED IN EITHER AUTO OR MANUAL MODE.
F. THE NORMAL/BYPASS KEY SWITCH ON CUBICLE 5 DOOR SHOULD BE IN THE
NORMAL POSITION TO PREVENT CLOSING MAIN #1, TIE, AND MAIN #2 BREAKERS
AT THE SAME TIME. WHEN THIS SWITCH IS IN THE NORMAL POSITION, ONLY TWO
