OLK series rod line insulators suitable for electrical insulation and installations
of wires and anti-lightning rods for overhead lines and open high voltage power
distributing units. OLK insulators have special construction intended for fastening 10kV
wires on traverse or no traverse fastening to support. The distance between upper end
with wire and lower probe is more than 100mm.
� Because of that insulator is brake resistant inside of glass-plastic composite
which has electrical resistance more than 40kV to 1 cm. A possibility of installation in
remote regions (swamps, mountains, forests…) makes them irreplaceable for using in oil
and gas industry. In extreme situations OLK insulators can be dropped down from
helicopters from height up to 15 meters right in factory packages.
Breakage is not possible under conditions of normal transportation. Low weight
and comfortable package allow to move decent quantities of insulators right in working
places by hands, without using of machinery. The construction of insulators is patent
protected.

Application and design recomendations
Rod line insulators OLK
Factory performed operation of joining insulation part to the probe of insulator excludes hard working in
field environment. This eliminates a possibility of staff mistakes – “human factor”. The absence of polyethylene
cap, that is losing mechanical properties under low temperatures, allows to operate OLK insulators down to –
60 C°.
While designing electrical power supply lines it is necessary to apply typical solutions for insulating traverse on a
basis of OLK insulator. The selection of typical solutions factory is able to send up on a written inquiry. Some important
features and drawings are also placed in the ending part of this catalogue. The difference that traverse has is lack of
installation probes, instead traverse has corresponding openings for fastening insulators of OLK type.

Line composite silicon pin insulators SHPU were manufactured by using brand new materials and constructive solutions that were never used before. Solutions that were found in manufacturing process were also used in production of other insulator types.
The rubber part in SHPU insulator is placed under high pressure between cap and metal tube flange. Function of insulating body is similar to function of silent blocks suspension of a vehicle. Insulator has minimal quantity of parts: metal grounded tube for traverse probe, dielectrical anti - trаcking silicone rubber sealant and metal cap for wiring. Thermal withstand of such insulator is more than 350°C, and is limited by melting temperatures of components. Withstand of SHPU insulator to temperature differences (thermoshock) is more than 420°C. Insulator withstands temperature differences from -70°C up to +350°C. Glassplastic used for manufacturing of power dielectrical body of insulator was reinforced with stable to lixiviation glass-roving. This allowed significantly increase the lightning impulse withstand of SHPU insulator. Original fitting construction allows quick exchange of old ceramic insulators to new composite silicon pin insulators. Mounting time is under 30 seconds.

Composite silicon pin insulators SHPU
SHPU series insulators are suitable for the same probes, which are used for ceramic insulators installation without any additional parts. High reliability and durability, proved by experience of usage, are the main features of composite silicon insulators. Besides of that SHPU insulators differ by hawing low weights, are vibration prove, shock prove, high pollution resistant, high vandalism acts prove and sun radiation resistant. High hydrophobic features of composite silicon part makes the characteristics of SHPU insulators even more impressive in relation of being in wet and polluted enviroments.
Reduction of weight in comparison to ceramic and glass insulators gives economy in transportation costs. During the time of transportation breakage of insulators is absolutely excluded. Low weight and comfortable package allow to move decent quantities of insulators right in working places by hands, without using of machinery. Silicon rubber insulating body of SHPU insulators is manufactured by using materials made by General Electric, Wacker, Dow Corning companies.
Operating time is 30 years in open air and high pollution enviroment conditions. Insulators are suitable for installation in far northern areas. For such kind of installation insulators are supplied with special steel caps, which are able to withstand extremely low temperatures down to - 80°C. A possibility of installation in remote regions (swamps, mountains, forests…) makes them irreplaceable for using in oil and gas industry.
Usage of SHPU series insulators eliminates the possibility of vandalism and firearms shooting damages. Even after series of firearm shooting insulators continue to function – the main insulating part is protected by steel cap. SHPU insulators have increased resistance to earth quakes. Insulators endings are coated with corrosion resistant zinc layer 120 mkm in thickness.
