High Voltage Disconnectors

Answers for energy.

s

High quality and reliability delivered.

High-Voltage Disconnectors available up to 800kV

Years of experience in high-voltage switching technology go into the design and production of the disconnectors that set an international trend. Customers know Siemens as a powerful partner – a supplier of attractive products and solutions at competitive prices with high quality standard. We comply with our customer’s demand for reliability, safety and cost-effectiveness and serve them throughout the world. Irrespective of your application our disconnectors provide the best solution for your requirements every time.

Siemens Ltd. has an integrated facility for design, testing and manufacturing of disconnectors at Hyderabad. Larg-est of its kind in India, this plant, manufacturers center break, double break, pantograph and knee type discon-nectors. The products range from 36kV upto 800kV for various current ratings from 630A to 3150A* as well as associated earth switches and drive mechanisms.

The disconnectors are supplied throughout India covering almost all the switchyards/substations, power stations, paper, sugar, cement, and petrochemical Industries etc.

In the modern period, the switchyards are going for unmanned stations and with the advent of digital relays, the system is totally computerized and all actions are being carried out away from the switchyard through remote operation control, SCADA systems etc. Any failure in operation on a command or maloperation can create disastrous consequences like power loss, loss of equipment or outages triggering even the grid failure.

Under these circumstances, this would call for a very reliable & quality conscious product in disconnectors.

• Expertise in manufacturing disconnectors for varied climatic conditions.

• Suggestions on possible interchangeability of components/modifications at design stage itself to optimize the resultant performance.

• Accessories like insulators, support structure and terminal connectors can also be supplied as per the customers requirements.

• Highly experienced service team for on-site supervision of erection, commissioning and testing.

Product Portfolio

Double Break Dicconnector can be installed in locations, which have minimal overhead clearance, as blades swing open to the side rather than lifting upwards. Double break disconnectors are normally supplied with earth or without earth switch based on the requirement and they can be either with mechanical gang or with electrical gang operation in order to ensure the smooth operation of all the three poles simultaneoulsy. They are excellent for installations, which have large amount of fault cur-rent due to reverse loop contact design. The design of two breaks per phase in series provides much greater line charging or magnetizing current interrupting capability with standard arcing horns.

Special Features in our Double Break Isolators:

Successfully type tested design meeting the requirements of IEC 62271-102.

Successfully tested for short circuit level of 40kA, 50kA and 63kA.

Confirming to mechanical endurance of class M2 as per IEC requirements.

Horizontal Double Break Disconnector

Centre Break Disconnector can be installed in locations, which have minimal overhead clearance, as blades swing open to the side rather than lifting upwards. An economic advantage of using Centre Break Disconnector is that it requires only six insulators per Disconnector versus nine insulators required for Double End Break Disconnector. Centre break disconnectors are normally supplied with earth or without earth switch based on the requirement and they can be either with mechanical gang or with electrical gang operation in order to ensure the smooth operation of all the three poles simultaneoulsy.

Horizontal Centre Break Disconnector

Special Features in our Centre Break Isolators:

Successfully type tested design meeting the requirements of IEC 62271-102.

Successfully tested for Short circuit level of 40kA, 50kA.

Confirming to mechanical endurance of class M2 as per IEC requirements.

3

Pantograph Disconnectors can be installed in locations where coupling of buses/current transfer are required at two different heights. Current transfer will take place from the top-level bus to the bottom level bus through this type of disconnector.

Pantograph disconnectors are normally supplied with one earth switch and without earth switch based on the re-quirement and they are usually electrically gang oper-ated in order to ensure smooth opeartion of all the three poles simultaneously.

Pantograph Disconnector

Horizontal Knee Type Disconnector

Special Features in our Pantograph Isolators:

Successfully type tested design meeting the requirements of IEC 62271-102.

Successfully tested for Short circuit level of 40kA.

Confirming to mechanical endurance of class M2 as per IEC requirements.

A particular advantage of using Horizontal knee type disconnector is reduced vertical dimension and these disconnectors can be used for any conventional applica-tion. The reliable and safe performance of our discon-nector is ensured through silver plated contacts, a special mechanism to achieve the high contact pressure and

completely free rotating unit bearings. Our disconnectors can withstand short circuit current rating upto 50kA/1sec and the applicable standard is IEC 62271-102.
