DERMALOG Face Matching instantly compares facial images from various sources to large image databases, supporting the biometric identification, comparison, and verification of persons. ID issuance agencies can compare ID portraits to large image databases to prevent ID fraud or detect clerical errors. The Examiner toolset can enhance images for better comparison to the gallery. For example, image processing filters can improve the quality of images retrieved from low quality video footage. The pose correction filter uses 3D modeling technology to generate frontal views of faces taken under lateral angles. Examiner also provides a set of inspection tools that help identify the person by comparing images side by side or by measuring facial features.

Operators can develop watch lists of potential matches while recording a full audit trail for each step in the process. Finding a suspect in a timely manner allows investigators to act upon the search results in the critical time period after a crime has been committed. Face Matching incorporates state-of-the-art tech-nologies relevant to work with facial images, in particular image processing, computer vision, and pattern recognition technologies. Algorithmic optimization has resulted in superior independen-ce from facial variances such as pose, mimic, age variance, different hair styles, glasses or temporary lighting changes.

Face RecognitionThe complex and random patterns of an indivual’s eyes are unique and stable. The iris is a thin, circular struc-ture in the eye, responsible for controlling the diame-ter and size of the pupil and thus the amount of light reaching the retina. Recent automated methods of biometric identification methods by DERMALOG include iris recognition as an ideal and secure solution included in our ABIS. They use infrared technology to acquire images of the de-tail-rich, intricate structures of the iris which are visible externally, regardless of the person’s eye color.
