Understanding the Process
First Round is divided into Rank order and Tier plus Rank order.
Rank order is the rank of student’s raw score, ie. 850 out of 900. (30%)
Tiers are divided by 4. CPS has classified zip codes throughout the city into 4 tiers, accepting 25% from each tier. (70%)
Each student will have only one school potentially accept them.
End of Feb you will find out acceptance/ not acceptance from schools
Principal DiscretionIf you did not get accepted into a Selective Enrollment school, there is the Principal Discretion process (only up to an additional 5% of students chosen)
