Mechanical knowledge is essen al for success in mechatronics. Within this core area, the mechatronics program off ers courses that will introduce key

mechanical concepts and components, from the basics such as bolts and pulleys to the more ad-vanced robo cs and CNC machines. Students inter-ested in various engineer-ing and technological ca-reer fi elds or specialized maintenance technician careers will fi nd these courses very useful.

Electronic and electrical ingenuity is what puts mechanical structures into mo on. In these key areas, students learn about an extensive range of topics, such as electrical motors, elec-tronic sensors, control devices and relays, wiring, sequencing and mer control, etc. Stu-dents not only learn basic con-cepts in these areas, but also where and how they are used in modern industries. These courses act as a catalyst for students interested in career fi elds like automa on, elec-trical engineering, technical maintenance, and more.

Diff erent types of so ware allow professionals to create a language that speaks to electronic and mechanical components and tells them what to do.

The courses in this program area will give students intro-ductory knowledge of com-puter aided design (CAD) so -ware and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to help them understand what keeps au-tomated technology running so smoothly and eff ec vely. Students interested in these topics may fi nd futures in com-puter science/programming or high-tech manufacturing.
