Have your say on the ‘High Road West’ proposalsPublic consultation 29th April – 21st June 2013

Over the last 12 months, Haringey Council and Homes for Haringey have been talking to you about your priorities for improving the area. Your feedback has been used to develop a plan with three options for change in High Road West. We would now like your views on these potential redevelopment options.

The plans for the High Road West project are still at a very early stage and Haringey Council is committed to continue to involve you in the plans as they develop to ensure you have your say on the future of your area.

You are being invited to have your say because you live near to the High Road West area.

So that you can see the plans and we can hear your views, we will be holding a series of master plan drop in sessions for the wider community. At the drop in sessions, where you can come for as short or as long a time as you wish, you will be able to:

• Meet the team – Council staff and the Arup design team

• See the three master plan options for change• Give us your views on the area, the master

plan options and help shape the future of your community

• Find out how we will use your views and the next steps for the project

What is a master plan?It is an overall plan for an area that shows the street layouts, public spaces, the amount of housing and where key buildings could be. It is flexible, it does not try to provide a detailed design for every building and it allows for change over time.

Consultation sessions will be held on:

• Tuesday 14th May 9.30am – 2.30 pm at 639 Tottenham High Road, London, N17 8BD

• Saturday, 1st June 10am- 5pm at Haringey Sixth Form Centre, White Hart Lane, London, N17 8HR

The three master plan options will show different types of street layouts, amounts of new homes, community and leisure facilities, locations for new businesses and open spaces. We want to hear your views to help shape the future of your community.

How have the plan and its options been developed? We have been working with planning and design consultants, Arup to develop and design the options. We have also been speaking to the local community during this time to find out your priorities and ambitions for the area. You have been telling us that key priorities are to:

• Improve the quality of homes in the local area• Tackle crime and anti-social behaviour• Generate local jobs and opportunities• Improve the High Road and have more facilities for

the local community

• Create better public open spaces

We think the master plan options reflect these priorities but we want to find out what you think.

Visit: www.haringey.gov.uk/highroadwest. You will also be able to view the plan and its three options at Coombes Croft Library (opposite Spurs stadium), Tottenham High Road, London, N17 8AG

Next stepsWe will use the feedback we have received from this consultation to develop a ‘preferred option’ master plan. We will publish a feedback report so you can see what the local community has told us.

We will then hold a second round of consultation to seek your views on the preferred option, before any decisions are made about the future of the local neighbourhood.
