High Pressure Fluids Visualization Cells SEPAREX proposes high-pressure sapphire visualization cells tailored to your application and activities. We have a large range of cells especially designed for different purposes and we will always try to advice and propose the most adapted cell to your different applications. There are mainly two different types of cells: 1 - Sapphire tubes
A sapphire tube is closed by 2 lids and offers a complete view on the full cell volume. These cells are ideal for large and global visualization of the cell. They are particularly suited for :
- Multiphase behaviour visualization - Visualization of solubilization of mixture with long solubilization process that requires
an efficient mixing (mixer option) - Atomisation and spray visualisation (e.g. for SAS) - Thermodynamic measurement with possible addition or sampling of the fluid by the
top or the bottom of the cell. Standard configuration

2 : Thermodynamic measurement cell with sapphire window :
These cells do not allow a complete view of the volume. But they allow both observation through the windows and quick and precise thermodynamic measurements. These cells are best suited for:
- Precise measurement of thermodynamic data with precise pressure and temperature control.
- Sample collection - Precise volume control with variable cell volume and measurement of the piston
position in the cell. - Experiments that require large cell volumes : larger volume cells can be manufactured
upon request

All cells are equipped with ports are available at different heights in the cell for sampling or for product introduction. Two configurations are available for piston actuation: - Piston actuation by fine thread screw type capstan with indication of piston position - Piston actuation with a nitrogen pressure for precise measurement of equilibrium at
constant pressure with indication of piston position Different options are available and can be supplied: - Heater / cooler for temperature control through the jacket - Cold light source + camera for numerical visualisation + recording on PC - 100 ml syringe pump with capstan for precise CO2 volume injection. - 100 ml syringe pump with jacket and capstan for precise liquid or liquefied gas
volume injection. This pump works not only for CO2 but also for any liquefied gas without the need of gas venting for priming.
- HPLC type pump for liquid introduction to supply precise quantities of liquid in the cell.

- Magnetic strirrer with magnetic bar place inside the cell - Sealless stirrer for very efficient mixing inside the cell. - Central axis for 180° rotation of the cell - High pressure sampler with 6 way valve configuration
3 : Turn key visualisation systems:
Using the cells and components described above, Separex proposes turn key and tailored designed equipment allowing to observe complex media, measure thermodynamic equilibria, collect some samples for chemical of spectroscopic analysis, (UV, IR, RAMAN,…) and observe mixture, impregnation atomization, dissolution or crystallization phenomena.
